Just ate here and was pretty much pleased with everything. Food was delicious and our server, Jordan was very sweet. The alligator skewers were the best. Only thing I suggest, if it's possible, is please put a cooler up front for the mugs that customers use for the serve your own beer. Beer comes out cold but unless you chug it, gets hot quick considering the mugs are hot. Other than that we loved everything about this place. We will most definitely be back.
Food was good. Server had a great personality but wasn't trained well on priorities.nnPriority #1: DrinksnnPriority #2: Make sure the table has everything they need after food is delivered so they can eatnnMy food is delivered by someone else. I need condiments before I'm going to eat. My server comes out and takes an order from another table. After 5 minutes I'm asked if I need anything, which was probably obvious as I hadn't touched my food yet. Server goes to another table to take their order immediately after. 10 - 15 minutes after my food is delivered I receive my condiments needed to start eating.nnI do not think this was intentional whatsoever, just poor training on server priorities.nnLike I said though, food was good, just would have been even better if I could have eaten it while hot.
Let's see, the alligator was good, the onion rings and tater tots were good. The crab dip was great! I even had some of the calamari which was pretty good since I don't really like calamari generally... The chicken strips were huge and I hear the sauce was really good. Chips with beer batter dip was yummy, but a coworker described it as runny. Apparently, the Cosmos are good cause they kept getting ordered... Waitresses were pretty attentive and helped with self pour as needed. Our beer crew seemed to like the Bold Rock but wasn't very impressed with anything else. My white Russian kinda looked like a chocolate Sundae (not complaining) but I don't think I've ever been served cherries in a white Russian before... Not sure if it's a covid thing but there was very little clearing of empty glasses and old dishes and we went through a lot of both.
My husband and I had a great experience tonight. We were unsure about whether or not to stay (we are not from the area), and the nice hostess in the front of the restaurant did such a great job of selling the food, we decided to give it a try! The food and service did not disappoint. We’d asked for recommendations; my husband trying one of the burgers and I had the Philly cheese steak. They both were great and came out fast. Next time I would probably get the lettuce and tomato on the side because it was too cold to have on a hot sandwich in my opinion. But other than that, everything was really good. We had amazing service from start to finish and will definitely return with the family.
We went here because they came up on a pet friendly search for restaurants in Fredericksburg. They are not any longer pet friendly or it was a mistake in the search results. However, the reason to avoid this place is the toxic attitude from the bartender. It really was a simple question about can we eat on the patio with our dog (also, a service dog) and was met with a whole slew of reasons why we couldn’t, none of which comport with the actual law. Anyway, it’s good to see that they have enough business to turns people away in a manner that causes them never to return. Smells like a an unclean bar towel after a big night.
