Stumbled upon this shop while in Bangor when I forgot my hackle pliers on a business trip. Loved my experience here, the shop is seasoned and rustic, and Galen has a unique variety of materials he dyes himself and you will not find materials like this anywhere else. Galen was very friendly and I loved chatting with him and hearing his stories.
Hatchey helped me pick a few things out to get me started with dry fly fishing. Great wealth of knowledge. Got to hear some sea stories, as well! Looking forward to my first catch (after more casting practice).
Great selection of material for hand tied fly's . Special dyed hackel bundels of many colors for streamers . Hand built Fly rods built on site of excellent quality and life time gurante. Highly recommend this shop. Mr. Hachey was very friendly and knowlegeable of local fishing. And willing shared stories of fishing adventures.
