My wife and I loved the place. She said that the chicken fried steak was the best she has ever had. I got the beef fajita dish and they were sizzling for five minutes at the table. Ever piece was tender. The grilled veggies was great to. To perfectly top off our meals the owner came set with us and told the history of the place. We talked for about a hour. All the staff was wondering. The place also has a game room in what used to be a bomb shelter under the Post Office now made restaurant.
I had the slice beef sandwich with season fries. It was so tender and the mouth watering flavor was the best I have ever had. Fries are big steak fries that tastes fresh cut not frozen. Great place and atmosphere.
Pony Express is Hands Down the best restaurant in Hearne! The food is off the chain. The service is exceptional. The drinks are great. Get the House Margaritas. Karaoke on Saturday's. Pool table, darts and jukebox below. You can't go wrong. The best place in this small town!!

The service was amazing. Waitstaff continued to check on us and made sure we had everything we needed. The loaded spud was enough food for two people and was phenomenal. We will be back!! Thanks for great service and even better food.
