Walking into John Howie feels like being a nominee at an awards show; especially on your birthday. As you are lead to your table you are welcomed by every team member you pass, and not in a hollow fashion, but with eye contact and sincerity.nnUpon being seated the host took all serviettes but mine, leaving us to wonder why my girlfriend didn’t get one. However, when he returned, he carried a black one... matching her dress. An incredible touch that few would think of.nnAfter that, a bus boy arrived with two water glasses and a pitcher, while offering sparkling or alternate still if we’d prefer.nnNext, our waiter Shawn arrived to fill us in on a couple menu items and offer pleasant conversation. We ordered scallops, Brussels sprouts, gnocchi, a special that had a 4oz Japanese Waygu and a 5oz US Waygu, and the rib cap (suggested by Shawn). To drink we had a lemon drop and Fantastic 4.nnThe scallops were actually the least favorite of ours, coming out a little undercooked and “fishy” compared to scallops from other high class restaurants.nnThe gnocchi was spot on as always, being perfectly cooked and wonderfully flavorful with both pesto flavors and the starchy finish of gnocchi.nnThe steaks, oh man the steaks! The Japanese Waygu was highly marbled and this a little chewy, but the flavor was phenomenal. The US Waygu was mouth watering, wonderfully textured, and a pleasure to eat. The rib cap was delicious, the flavor profile was rich and savory with a little of the Smokey salt included. Picking a “favorite” is not an easy task, and thankfully unnecessary.nnThe Brussels sprouts were crispy, salty, and “sweet” with garlic crisps and shredded cheese.nnThe kitchen team was wonderful, cutting all steaks in half and splitting the gnocchi so we didn’t have to work hard to share.nnThe drinks were flavorful with enough alcohol to know you’re having a drink.nnFinally, we got a chocolate lava cake for my birthday, and it was incredible, coming with a candle and a ton of frosting, chocolate sauce, and caramel.nnWe also spoke with the sommelier and got a nice port to accompany desert.nnI highly recommend this spot for special occasions, you will not be disappointed.

Decided to try John Howie delivery services and it was excellent This place has very good choices!! And it's always so fun to try. Pleasant, professional workers. Often deliver complimentary tasting of the pod. In and out of the door in a matter of minutes.

Amazing food, best steak I have ever had. Everything is a la carte and their prices go all the way up to $300+ for a steak if you feel like being that fancy. High end restaurant. Waitstaff exceptional.

John Howie never disappoints, top notch service, food and craft drinks. Though I've been here many times, today I popped in for a drink and a quick snack. Had the happy hour Old fashion and the ginger soy tinderloin bites. Everything was perfect! Staff was also great!
