The Red Onion

Good restaurant/bar in downtown Aspen. The ambience is good and the service is also good. We had a couple of drinks and some appetizers and they were all good. Overall would recommend this place due to the diversity of options they have on their menu.

One of the best places to eat in Aspen for a family! The bacon mac and cheese is fantastic as well as the French onion soup. Burgers are delicious and the quesadilla is really original! An absolute Aspen staple that highly recommend especially if you have kids.

Best place in Aspen IMO. I truly hope they come back better than ever. Until then, I’ll miss going there. Definitely a must do in Aspen. When they re open :(

This is a very cozy place, very good food is offered here as well; however, the gastronomic service is the worst I have ever seen. My wife and I were having some beers and some starters when after twenty five minutes the waiter approached us, and told us we only could stayed for another 30 minutes because others customers were in the waiting list. We did not even have the time to ask for dinner. This was one of the most unpleasant moments I have ever go through. The owner of this place shall train their workers about gastronomic services a little bit more. No customers should be asked to leave a place, as long as they are consuming. That guy was the most unprofessional waiter I have ever met.

Went downtown to get dinner with my wife, got put on several wait lists, and then walked by The Red Onion where we were seated immediately. Staff were friendly and helpful. Appetizer was delicious and original - Bacon Pico de gallo macaroni and cheese (one of the best treats ever and I would get it again and again, but would add the jalapenos!). Dinner was fabulous, halibut with mango salsa, and my wife had the streak - cooked perfectly and very tender. She loved her potatoes, and she normally doesn't even like mashed potatoes.
