Pet Supplies Plus Omaha

I came in looking for a bearded dragon. We found our beardie to give a forever home to. But I’ve never owned a reptile so it’s a new ballpark for me. The associates were extremely kind, helpful and attentive to any questions or needs that I had. The young girl working gave me all the advice she could, and made sure to get the right answers from someone if she wasn’t 100% sure about a certain question I had. They let us stroll through the reptile section and occasionally checked in with us to make sure we were still doing okay, or to let us know something they thought we needed to know. The guy working rang me up, carried my tank to the counter and car since I’m pregnant and can’t lift a whole lot and not once did anyone working make it seem as if we were too needy with questions or help. They also didn’t try to push sales or up-sell us. They gave us recommendations on what they thought was best and comfort behind the decisions that we went with in terms of item and brand selections. We had complete control over the entire process. 10/10 would come here again. They made the experience of getting our new little guy much more anticipated. We can’t wait to pick him up in the morning!

Nice store. The prices are pretty good and the employees are friendly. They don’t just have a lot of product. Very Small selection for any animal except dog.

I stopped in to look at their fish and aquarium supplies and was initially pleasantly surprised by the low sale price of a few fish I was interested in however it was short-lived. I had asked the girl to bag up all the neon tetra and snails they had because of a sale but when the first one went into the bag it was dead. Then I started looking harder and noticed there were quite a few dead ones in the tank. As I started looking in other tanks I found that almost every tank had dead fish in it; some even being eaten by other fish. The tanks were also filthy and the glass was covered in green/brown algae. By far one of the worst fish tank conditions I've ever seen in a store. Whomever manages this section or store should consider a career change. As far as the rest of the store, I didn't go through every isle except to hunt down someone to help me but I kept smelling wet dog from the time I walked in the door which I discovered that they openly bath dogs in the back of the store. Literally fully exposed to the rest of the store. This left a stench of wet dog permeate the store....why an open dog bathing concept would even be considered is beyond me. I put back everything I had already selected. I would not buy one living creature from there as they clearly do not know how to care for them. I am heavy into fish keeping and belong to a large network of aquarists and this place will definitely be a topic of discussion. Be warned, don't risk putting any fish from here into any home aquariums or you will risk serious health issues with your own fish. I would give zero stars if I could.nnUPDATE: 3.3.2021, the response to my review above is a cookie cutter response to most of their bad reviews. I went back through all reviews and found same/similar responses and when it came to a fish review from a year ago that was just like my experience they said they had put precautions in place to prevent from happening. This is clearly not the case. I don't need to call someone to work anything out or discuss my disappointment. What is needed is better care of your tanks and stock. I will be checking again soon and will provide another update on conditions so hopefully you take customer reviews seriously...don't talk about it just fix it. No fish store should have dead anything in their tanks. Kids enjoy shopping for fish and they don't need to see a potential pet fish feeding on another. That could ruin their interest in the hobby.
