We've been to this place now three times and I would say they have the best food in Bandera. They were very busy last night but still took the time to let you know, they would be with you asap. The chicken fried steak is the best I've had in Texas. We even encountered some sweet girls while we were waiting that had all ordered it and they agreed. The fried mushrooms were awesome also. Even though they were busy, we had great service outside from Monica. If there is one improvement I could recommend, it would be in the drink department, no continuity on making Cosmos. The last time here, it was very sour. Otherwise, a great value for your money and an enjoyable time.

Normally, I am all for this restaurant. I love the food, the staff is super helpful, and treat you like they've known you forever. I guess we got there at the wrong time. The hostess was a little stressed there were a lot people who arrived all at the same time. Most of them were in groups of 4 or more. The wait was about 30 minutes. Once we got to the table our waiters was quick to come introduce herself and got our drink orders in and to us quickly. She checked on us and she was slammed with two large groups both groups ordering mixed drinks I watched her knock out that tables order and the other. Check back on us and let us know our food was coming. We waited for awhile to get our food. This is why I am not giving it all 5 stars the food was cold and looked as if the salmon had been reheated before I got it??? Or something? They were unable to serve the baked potatoes because they were still hard. Like I said they were slammed and I get it. Maybe new people in the kitchen or just not the right ones for a busy Saturday night. However, I will be back the next time we are in Bandera.

I love Bandera and this place has a great feel for the town. The specials they had were also nice for happy hour. The food was a little lack luster. Had a burger and flat bread. Flat bread literally had two sauces and chicken on it. It tasted alright but could of easily dressed up with some extra ingredients. Overall was a nice place but food could use some work.

Four of us ate here 3 times during our stay as it was really that good. Each time the staff was friendly and helpful. Food was enjoyable, fresh and presented well. Portions were ample. On Fridays they have an all-you-eat fish plate. Generous portions of tasty breaded fish served with cold slaw and fries. We were big guys and none of us could finish the plate enough to ask for seconds. They have outdoor seating for those with pets and fir those that smoke. Typical southern hospitality and cooking. Totally enjoyable experience.

The bartendar's here are awesome. They all have great personalities and always a smile on there face! I always eat at the bar because of that fact. They have a great salad bar and the Tuna entree is very good, definitely sushi grade. Also if the gumbo or chili is on the menu for special of the day, try it!!! One more thing, very affordable$
