Today was the first time in 40 years that I have seen kindness, compassion, and empathy in a medical setting. I cannot speak highly enough of the team of doctors, nurses, technicians, and staff I saw today. I’m no stranger to hospitals or doctors offices, but I’ve never once witnessed the kindness I saw today. Thank you for listening, taking me seriously, not telling me I was imagining things, and getting me the help I desperately needed. You are all much appreciated.

I had outpatient surgery and it could not have gone better. Dr. Jeri Dickinson who performs surgery there was excellent. The entire hospital staff was thoughtful and friendly. I thought the Facility was very clean and nice. I like the fact the hospital is small, large hospitals make me more tense.

I went there to check on my high blood pressure. All the nurses were really nice. They were so sweet and friendly. I had a great experience. I am suppose to be going back soon and I know they will take good care of me

I went to the ED with severe pain. I sat in a cold room for an hour before a very kind nurse finally came in. The reason I am only giving one star is because of the PA (Meagan) that saw me. She was extremely uncaring. She refused to listen to what I was trying to tell her. I could tell that she thought I was a drug addict seeking pain pills. When nothing “emergent” was discovered in my lab work, she gleefully discharged me with no explanation or help for the severe pain I have been dealing with and went to the ED to diagnose. Instead of listening to what I was trying to say, she became argumentative. I tried to advocate for my cause, but she held her power as a PA over me. She told me to take several days off of work as a remedy. Which was a fairly ignorant suggestion. I guess she must have enough money to take off time from work like that. I am the bread winner in my family and a mom. Taking time off from work isn’t an option for me. I would lose not only my income to care for myself and my children, but my job. She agreed to give me pain medication, which I thought was good so that at least I could sleep and get through the day. However, I realized just how unempathetic, biased and wielding of her medical professional status she was at the pharmacy. She had only given me 4 pain pills. I am a hard working professional, mother, law abiding citizen that was simply looking for help with severe pain, but her biases couldn’t see that. Not everyone seeking pain relief is a drug addict, but Meagan had sized me up. I guess advocating for myself only confirmed her bias of who I was. I do not recommend this hospital ED to anyone, especially if you are in pain!!
