Leavenworth Sausage Garten

Good beer selection for a walk up Garten. Was right across the street from our hotel We enjoyed our time under the heated lamps on a chilly night. The pretzels were great, super buttery. I had to go back for a second that I didn’t have to share. Really tasty mustard sauces, my favorite was the onion. Would definitely return.

Visit in winter, come here after dark, and order the Gluhwein with one of their soft pretzels. (The sausage here is great too, but not with mulled wine.) Leavenworth in the snowy dark is a beautiful place to begin with, and this addition will make it a paradise.

If you love German food and a beer - you have to visit this place in Leavenworth. I drive here often on weekends just for a bratwurst. Leavenworth is built and design like you're in Germany and I lived there for 9 years. Lots of shops and restaurants, parks for kids, dog friendly, Art and Crafts on weekends. Remember to visit in December for the Christmas Tree lighting ceremony - spectualiar event. People come from around the world for this event.

Come here for the atmosphere but not the food. We've been here a few times. It's a great location but the sausages are dense and mediocre. The service is slow (not sure why?). The potato salad is pretty good. Why no fries? It's fairly inexpensive. It's pretty meh, unfortunately

We were there late afternoon Sunday, August 23. No beer on Sunday for me! That's ok, but why do they block off the disabled access point?nnThere were a lot of people milling around on the sidewalk. To me, it just looked like a lot of people standing around. I wasn't sure why they were all there... but saw wait staff handing cold beers over a railing to people below.nnThe entrance my husband and I use is at the top of the wheelchair ramp. It's easily accessible. Mask on, I walked in to see if I could order a beer and bring it to a table below. I asked a server as he whisked past me with a pitcher if we could just walk up to counter and place order. He said: I don't know!nnI walked towards the counter to inquire and hopefully order a beer. A waitress rushed over to me and snarled: You can't just walk in here. YOU HAVE TO GO DOWN THERE AND WAIT IN LINE WITH EVERYONE ELSE. YOU CAME IN THE EXIT.nnI've used that upper entrance for so many years, I was stunned. If there was a sign, I did not see it. People make mistakes, but staff need to be nicer about it.nNo I did not order a beer. I figured they don't deserve my business if they are going to be that rude.nnEspecially since they have conveniently blocked access to mobility impaired customers. That means my husband can't get his wheelchair up those stairs to the walk up counter. And that makes me mad.nnI get it. It's COVID and it's a tourist town. Life's complicated. So I warn you.. If traveling with mobility impaired people, wheelchair bound or otherwise, do not bother with this place.
