This ER provided one of the worst experiences of my life. I was traveling for work and 8 weeks pregnant. Started bleeding heavily and with a past history of miscarriage I was very concerned. Being 4 hours from my doctor I went to the ER for answers. The intake nurse basically told me they had no idea when I would be able to be seen as all the beds were full. Being unfamiliar with the area I wasn't sure what other hospitals to visit. After being admitted the bleeding continued and I kept asking for an ultra sound to check on the baby or to check the heart beat. The doctor asked when my last ultrasound was and being that it was just a few days earlier didn't feel like I needed one. They took blood and did an exam and after sometime the doctor came back and told me and my friend that I was basically having a miscarriage and there was nothing they could do but send me home and wait. This all happening from about 9-12 at night so I was in no shape to drive back until the morning. I am very lucky that I was able to see my doctor and an ultrasound was done the next day and the baby was fine. But this ER and doctor could have prevented an intense amount of stress for me and the baby if they would have just followed the direction on their own packet that they sent me home with. Truly the worst experiences of my life.

My father was a patient there. He didn’t let anyone know he was sick because he was very private and didn’t want anyone “feeling sorry” for him. This hospital went over and beyond to comfort him in his last days. I live out of state and have been to several hospitals (I lost both grandparents this year) and NO hospital has ever bent over backwards to make sure my dad was comfortable and that I was okay! His day nurse knew how to make my dad feel comfortable and he trusted her so much!! I was notified on a Wednesday afternoon (he finally wanted us to be notified), I came down on Thursday, and he passed away early Friday morning. While I was there on Thursday, I was surrounded by staff that worked not just for a paycheck - but because they had such a kind heart for their patients. The doctor personally called to fill me in on my dad’s illness. I was never alone. The night doctor called me as he was passing and after he passed. She was so kind to me and said she and the other nurses stayed in there with him afterwards to comfort him. My dad never had that much peace on his face as he did when he passed. Cell phone numbers were given to me and staff members wrote me to express condolences and to check on me a few days later. I have been to other hospitals in Louisiana, Arkansas, Florida, and Tennessee and I never felt as comforted as the first floor crew at Christus Highland made me feel. I cannot express my gratitude enough to them. It has been so refreshing to see healthcare workers who have so much compassion!! I had to call the hospital a week later to check on something and the individual who I was transferred to was so incredibly kind and after I finished the call, I expressed my gratitude to this person. They said they had tears in their eyes and appreciated the kind words. Thank you ALL at Christus Highland!!

I am on the phone with my lawyer right now. I am not playing with you all. Fix the problem now!!! There are 7 other hospitals in Shreveport/Bossier. Don't send a patient home because you all need to give up the bed. Do your jobs, either transport patients to another hospital or give the families and patients options for extended healthcare. But do not try to admit another patient for the sake of banking on their insurance. Do not do it. I have a lot of resources and you all are not prepared for the legal problems coming to you. Quit competing with Willis Knighton and LSU. Health care is not to monopolized. You all are going to lose business from trying to out do eachother. Besides, before any of you take over healthcare in Shreveport, you'll lose it all the profit from having to pay of the penalties from the giant mound of lawsuits you'll have on your hands. So fix this one problem or else. It needs to be done immediately. Call me and tell me you fixed the problem ASAP!!!

I have consistently been treated GREAT here. The front desk staff has patience and is always helpful.nnMy doctor, Dr. Gregory, is personable, a good listener, and skilled.

Rude people work here. Everyone that works here would be PERFECT for a Snickers commercial.. Receptionist, nurse, doctor, even the portable x ray guy. They're all trash
