The automated system is difficult so I got a representative to speak with me he was very pleasant and answered all my questions. The company needs to review that automated system and make it more user-friendly .

If you want a bank that is all corporate without any of the convenience of a big bank, then GTE is for you. Not only will they put you on hold for 45 minutes, not have an answer for you and then forget to call you back, they will also apply double charges to your account and then politely deny that they exist. So to avoid the miscommunication of talking on the phone I decided I would just go into an office. Nope, appointment only. Here’s the worst part. When I finally got in, instead of talking to a person face to face they actually made me talk to a “iatm” where I spoke to a person behind a screen I could barely hear them and even inside an office I was put on hold! Seriously, GTE Financial may be one of the worst banks in America. Lousy and incompetent service, a laughable online experience and they will gut you in extra fees and hidden costs.

This banking institute is not about customer service at ALL. If you like to hold on the phone for hours on end listening to automated recordings, and when you go online have the Manager say they will call you shortly and they don't even call you, then this is the place for you. I had a car loan with this establishment and wanted to pay it off the first year! You would think they would be thrilled but they are not. They do everything in their power to delay the process and make it difficult just so they can collect additional monies. After a week of being run around by their customer service department, online chat (which was horrible and Christina you should be fired for the way you lied to me) then being given 3 wrong payoff amounts I finally went to the local office here in Sarasota. The staff was professional but still didn't know how to handle customers properly. I worked with Adrian who was nice but is basically a warm programmed robot. Unable to think on his own as is the rest of the staff. Customer Service is something you will not find here. Their little game cost me an additional 43 dollars I should not have paid. Thanks GTE for nothing. I will never darken your doors again, and suggest others do the same.

GTE Financial is good until you need something from them, then their customer service is terrible. I paid off my vehicle loan and needed a payoff letter. I sent three messages via their web site; none of which received a reply. Various customer service reps either on the phone or on their online chat, gave different answers as to when I could expect the payoff letter. One told me it would be 7 business days after payoff was received, another said it would be over 30 business days after final payment was received. They blamed the delays on everything from COVID to working with the Florida DMV. This should be an automated process that should take no longer than 5 business days after payment is processed. Apparently Customer Service, when they do actually respond, will tell you anything but have no idea what they're doing.

Each time I need to make a deposit, I dread going. The doors are locked, someone meets you at the door at which time they question you in reference to what you're doing there then ask details about your health and if you've traveled recently. As if we're all ignoramuses that don't know enough to not go out when were ill or have been exposed to Covid. Also annoying as well, there is no teller to serve you, it's a kiosk type situation. I despise the whole experience. Very impersonal.
