Riverside Diagnostic Center, Newport News

We have waited over a hour past the appointment time and noone has come out to say anything. No apology, no explanation at all. We were here yesterday also and they were running behind but not this late. Just not acceptable. My time is as valuable as theirs. Appointments are made for a reason. Please respect my time and do better.

The lab is supposed to be open but I guess when it is convenient for them. I came yesterday because said they were open til 5. Got there at 355 and they said sorry lab closes at 3:50. Like really. So now I have to go to the hospital to get my blood drawn. If I were you, I’d find a place that is more reliable.

Writing this as I'm currently into my second hour of waiting here for a simple test. Absolutely absurd!

We had an appointment at 9:30 and was told to arrive at 9:15 to complete necessary paperwork. After waiting more than one hour, I called on my cell phone, to inquire why no one is informing us of how long it will be to be seen for a scheduled appointment? I understand that an emergency can happen which it did on this day but when inquiring at the front desk, the receptionist said she would call back and get back with me. Not once but twice she said this and never got off her lazy behind or followed up with me. This is totally unacceptable as my sister is diabetic and was told to not take her insulin for this procedure. Once she was called, the nurse seemed upset that I questioned her about time, stating”we had an emergency “. This entire scenario could have been calmed down if the receptionist would follow up and then let us make the decision early on to cancel and reschedule than to sit and then offer to reschedule after almost two hours. I am ranting because I was treated like a bother, with no empathy. I really know that most of the Riverside practices are on point but this one has lost its compassion and some people need to be retrained or just told to do the jobs they were hired to perform. As I sit here with eyes keep watching me like I've done something wrong, wonder should I have said anything. Yes is the answer as in order to fix a problem, you have to be informed of the problem.

The location of this place is still rather tricky in finding. I think the name of the road was changed back in 2015 from Middle Ground Blvd to City Center Blvd. Nice people & very professional!
