Amazing fresh seafood cooked to perfection!nnI never thought I would find Fish & Chips that resemble what you would eat at a typical pub in London, but Mabels chefs have managed to come very, very close. The fresh fish they use, the batter, dip sauce and side dishes all come together quite nicely. If you try it order with an Allagash White ud83cudf7a I want to thank the staff for accommodating me without a reservation. They were warm, friendly and radiate pride in the work they do.
Lobster was great, clams a bit shriveled , not juicy and plump like Mike's or Bull and claw. Clam chowder was really creamy but to many large potatoes. Over all 68 dollars for their shore dinner. Corn and sliced potatoes. Different with the parcily all over it.
I was really disappointed with this place. We got there on Sunday at about 3pm. They said they gave away the last table until dinner. I asked about take out and they said they weren’t doing that today. I asked when they would be open for dinner, the man seemed very disorganized and couldn’t give me a straight answer. He said maybe 4:45 or 5pm. We had drove over 2 hours to eat here so we were pretty committed to sticking to our plan even though this would ruin our dinner plans. We come back at 5pm and all the tables are given away and we would have had to wait 45 min. I wish the person I spoke with on the phone was more clear about how this place would have a wait and maybe we should just stick around if we wanted a table right away.nnWe never ate here but we wasted several hours trying to get a table. I think providing customers with a more honest description of their hours, number of tables, etc would have been really great.
Loved our experience at Mabel's. Food was delicious, service was excellent, and we still talk about the mac 'n cheese. Will definitely return next time we're in Kennebunkport.
Stopped in for a beer and an appetizer. We got the coleslaw, mac and cheese, and a side salad. Portions were very large and very good! I'll have to have a meal next time I'm Kennebunk way. Great place and great service!
