This is our favorite bar in Portland. Great gathering spot for locals and not touristy. Their pub food is great and their bartender Kelly is even greater! We've been coming here since the Original Howie owned it, the new owners really brightened up the place with their recent renovations. Small but plenty of seating between the bar and high top tables. Glad they survived the pandemic!
I love the place. It is my local, but honestly the chill vibe is fantastic and the food and drink are both good. I hesitate to review because I don't want it overrun. Still they deserve kudos. It's a great local pub and grill.
The basics done extremely well. Very comfortable place.
Owners are great, friendly people.
Howie's is one of Portland's oldest and finest basement dive bars. Parking is hard to find and the door is even harder, but it's worth it. Drinks are cheap and generous. Trivia Tuesdays!
