Super Shack

At 4pm I placed order over phone for pick up. Ordered catfish basket and broiled shrimp with hot sauce and cocktail sauce. When I arrived for pickup no one was up front to great nor direct. I approached two line cooks and requested my order. I inquired if I could get cocktail and hot sauce and the gentleman stated “it’s in the bag” which is tied down and he actually poked the bag acknowledging the location. When I arrived home nothing was in the bag but ketchup. I called them just to inform and a girl answered and responded we don’t give out that stuff it’s your responsibility to pack it yourself would you like a mgr. I said yes cause obviously that’s not true but they hung up.. I called back the hung up again and a third time as eventually stopped answering. Don’t get me wrong I don’t want anything for free! This was just bad service. Now that that’s out the way..nnThe food was so bland with absolutely -0- flavor. I won’t be back

All of the food here always delicious. Well worth the prices and always coming back. Never a let down.

I saw that of the seafood restaurants in my area, this had the highest rating, so I decided to give it a try. I ordered to go. They gave me a number to sit and wait. 30 minutes in, I see a bunch of to go bags, but as no one came over to me, I kept waiting. 40 minutes in, I ask how much longer it would be. I was told that they were waiting on an item. The food sitting there 30 minutes in? One of those were mine. 5 minutes from waiting an hour, they bring me the bag with nothing added to it. I ordered the Super Shack platter: half a pound of crab legs, half a pound of shrimp with corn, sausage and potatoes in the Cajun and garlic butter sauce. I added an additional half pound of crab legs. The crab legs were not as fresh as I would prefer, growing up in Galveston. They are supposed to snap crack. They didn’t. But, it was well seasoned and flavorful. I also ordered the fried shrimp basket and one fish fillet. The fries were not seasoned. The shrimp was well seasoned, but the fish tasted like it had not been cleaned prior to frying. The fish also wasn’t as well seasoned. The last thing I ordered was a pound of boiled crawfish. It was not as well seasoned as the Super Shack platter, but they were a good size. When it comes to seafood, since I grew up in Galveston and getting it fresh from the wharf, I don’t know whether I am being unrealistic with my expectations. No restaurant in the Dallas area I have had crab has the fresh snap crack. So maybe that’s a supply issue? I will probably give another try to see if today was just an off day.

You order at the front and the food is brought to your table. They have a full bar and an extensive food menu. Ordered the hot n spicy shrimp, crab legs, kids chicken tenders and fried oyster po' boy with onion rings. Everything was delicious and we had a good experience.

Good fried seafood place. Not fancy, just good stuff. Walk up and order and they bring it to your table.
