This program provides services that are inarguably valuable and greatly needed in our community. Individual people there genuinely care and want to help. Unfortunately, the clinic’s overarching policies/restrictions regarding particular aspects of care/medication management handcuff its ability to appropriately and/or effectively treat patients suffering with anxiety/PTSD/personality disorders. Approaches to care are rigid, relative to those of outside institutions I’ve had personal experience with, and the program’s inability to treat patients as individuals — with individual psychiatric requirements/concerns — makes it difficult for me to recommend to those who are in need of a nuanced, more complex treatment plan. If you’re just searching for open group therapy sessions or community engagement, this is a wonderful resource. But if you’re in need of an empowered individual practitioner, properly equipped to help you navigate illness or learn to cope with symptoms/mitigate risk factors, then you might start out looking elsewhere.
