I was recently here and was diagnosed with Covid. Being in excruciating pain, to the point I was in tears, I had to wait 5 hours after arriving by ambulance to get any help. The first nurse was extremely rude, hung up on my family, and refused to get me any help because “pain is not an emergency,” but I had not been checked out yet by that point.nnThe only saving grace was the overnight staff and nurse practitioner that took really good care of me for the 24hours I was there under evaluation and numerous testing. I wish I had gotten the first nurse’s name. She really needs to work on being more compassionate and learn to speak to people - or she’s in the wrong field.

Erika at patient services was the most personable, professional, and helpful person I have seen in a hospital setting. I am scheduled for a surgery coming up to remove cancer and my anxiety has been through the roof since finding out. Erika truly helped my anxiety while getting me registered for all the testing that was scheduled on February 8th at the Tower Grove Family Lounge location. Erika went above and beyond her responsibilities to help me. I wish all hospitals had nothing but Erika's as employees.

This hospital lacks any sortnOf comprehensive communication regarding patient care. At one point the case worker refused to call me because she had “talked to me yesterday “ despite the fact they were releasing my brother , for whom I am POA. They said his wounds weren’t bad enough to stay but were too bad for a long term care facility. Good luck and head on homenTo die. Donor trust your loved one to the incomplete and chaotic care offered here

I have been too many hospitals from Cedar Sinai tonBarnes Jewish and without a doubt St.Louis University is the worst. It’s not the medical staff, which is superb, it the food, the cleanness and the administration. The food is barely edible. The hospital is dirty. I feel for the staff. It puts itself on the frontline of the Covid battle and the administration doesn’t care. Do not go to this hospital. You will not be be fed.

I had a reaction to my first covid vaccine.nThis is also the first time coming to SLU hospital, and it will definitely be my last.nnWhen I got to the hospital, one of the front desk employees was on her phone most of the time of me being there, and she went outside to argue with her boyfriend over the phone.nnSecond, the front desk employee that was constantly on her phone eventually took me back to a room, which was dirty. She then took me bag to the lobby to wait until the room was cleaned and got back on her phone. After about 15 minutes she took back to the room and there was no bed in the room. She cursed out loud and ended up putting a bed in the room for me.nnThird, I had 2 different doctors come in my room and tell me 2 different treatment plans. I ended up getting a chest x-ray, before they asked if I was pregnant. After I had the x-ray done, right before I was leaving, they had me do a pregnancy test to make sure I wasn’t pregnant. I’m glad I wasn’t pregnant and they did an x-ray, possibly harming the baby.nnFourth, the nurses uniforms look really sloppy and too big on them. The nurses don’t even say hi or bye. They act as if you are a bother to them. One of the nurses that was assisting in my room constantly left my patient chart open to the public, and never closed out of it when he’d walk out of the room.nnFifth, when I went to go to the bathroom, there was dried up blood all over the floor.nnI understand that it’s a hospital, but the hospitality, cleanliness, and professionalism is horrible!!
