Saint Agnes Medical Group: Maryland Surgeons - Columbia

I was referred by my GI doctor to go see this practice. My symptoms were bad enough that he tried to get his assistant to get me in the same day or the next day. I went to see PA Jessica Sebastian. She was so kind , professional and compassionate. She wasn't able to assist with my issue so she scheduled me with the actual surgeon to help me 2 days later. She would get a 5 star from me for going above and beyond. Unfortunately, the customer service was a very traumatizing experience. My appointment eventually got cancel due to conflict of schedule of the doctor and spoke to this very rude scheduler name Mary who was very unprofessional and treated as my health didn't matter. Very snarky, alot of attitude, cold and raise her voice at me all because I ask politely if she can ask the doctor if I can be seen sooner then the appointment that she was trying to give me 1 week and 3 days later.. Even tried to compromise to go to either of their location or another physician. Explain her my symptoms and what going at my home( which I didn't have to) and she shrug it off because she just didn't care. I spoke to Karen the practice administrator to let her be aware because no one who is sick deserve to experience what I just went through. Karen was wonderful but that scheduler had made me felt discourage and lost trust in the practice all together. It was very unfortunate because PA Jessica Sebastian is wonderful. I definitely would recommend her to anyone but the scheduler Mary should not work in with any Patients at all and is going to cause patients to go somewhere else like I had to.

Was seen by Dr Merchant at Columbia office for a potential basal cell lesion and paid $40 copay on day of service. Medical care was fine, but billing office is substandard. Never received a billing statement indicating that any amount above the copay was due. Received a collection notice from a lawyer with no indication of what was being claimed as being delinquent. Multiple phone calls later learned it was from office visit with Dr Merchant 15 months prior even though no billing had occurred.
