HORRIBLE PLACE!nnMy grandmother was In here for very short time. While she was here she had bruises on her the nurses couldn't account for. When it was brought to the staffs attention, they acted like they could care less. They are extremely rude. I wouldn't trust them to care for my dog. Stay away from here!!!!
Excellent caring staff that have passion for the work they do. Highly recommended and extremely knowledgable.
My mother was in this facility for less than a week after having knee replacement surgery. She needed the rehabilitation to assist in becoming fully functional.nI’m leaving a one-star review, not for the rehabilitation or the PT. I’m unaware that anything in that part of my mothers care was unsatisfactory. This review is more about the staff of CNA’s and nurses.nWhen my mother was admitted she was somewhat ambulatory and we explained that she could function somewhat normally with going to the restroom and using her wheelchair and walker. And also explained that she needed to be toileted every 2 hours as she was susceptible to UTI’s, and due to being recently catheterized the UTI issue was prevalent. We were assured that they would take care of everything. When we returned the following day, we learned that the nurse and CNA had used a bedpan to toilet my mother and never moved her out of bed. I became incensed and asked the nurse if she thought this was “therapeutic.” Emphatic no on her part. The CNA on-duty that day stated she had no difficulty getting my mother to and from the commode. I asked the charge nurse that the CNA who attended my mother not be assigned to my mother again. A couple of days go by without incident until my mother mentions that when she was given her meds she asked the nurse what all the meds were. You see, my mother has been a nurse for a very long time and thought she recognized a few that she had never taken before. And that worried her bc of their actions and how they cannot just be stopped. Well, the nurse replied that she didn’t know what meds my mother was being given and didn’t recognize the pills and wasn’t able to identify them properly. That upset me. I am a nurse. I didn’t spend 6yrs of my life getting a nursing degree, to have it drilled into me, the 7 rights of patient medication administration, only to have one incompetent nurse put my mother at risk. My mothers rights were absolutely violated at that time. The bedpan incident with the SAME CNA happened AGAIN a couple days later! My mother felt embarrassed and extremely demoralized when the CNA stated she “didn’t have time to get my mother up to the commode and to just turn her ass over so she could slide the bedpan in.” According to my mother, my mother called for the nurse and the CNA was given a different assignment, although this was the only CNA on that night.nMy sister and I noticed on EVERY occasion of visiting that the med carts were unlocked and unattended in the hallway. Sometimes with drawers open. But ALWAYS unlocked. My sister is a Med Tech with extensive experience in medication administration, she was the one who pointed that out.nOh, on my mothers first day, day of admit, she was admitted at 5pm. She had just come from Doctors Hospital. She had been on some heavy narcotics, had just had major surgery 2 days before, was not dressed, had not bathed or showered, and her hair was a mess and was told she had to attend the dining room to eat her meals. This upset me, my dad, and my sister. This really upset my mother. When I asked the CNA if my mother could have her meal in her room the CNA stated that it was “therapeutic and that she needed to FEED my mother.” What? Feed my mother? My mother is perfectly capable of feeding herself. She had knee surgery. Not arm amputation or a stroke.nThe nurses were very “clichy” and would pow-wow together whenever I or my sister would bring to their attention things that we were concerned about regarding our mother.nThere were HIPPA violations in that some of the Nurse and CNA’s would discuss other patients within earshot of others, including my mother and family.nAnd there needs to be some sort of inservice done with the CNA’s as most do not know their job descriptions nor how to place TED hose.
