A family member was sent here after a crisis and if I could give them zero stars, I would. Staff asked that I drive an hour to bring his medication (reasonable, no complaints about that part) then mysteriously didn’t let him have it *and* failed to return it when he was discharged. A less stable patient managed to call 911 on the staff while my family member was there, apparently because of insufficient supervision. Nobody bothered to find out about food allergies and when they discovered my family member couldn’t eat a meal because of an allergy, *offered* a replacement but allowed the PATIENT to make their own decision about whether they needed to eat lunch. My family member spent a week and a half sitting in a room with no natural light with nothing to do and they didn’t even provide individual counseling during his stay because they had allowed both counselors to take vacation at the same time. I called during his treatment to ask about my family member telling me that he wasn’t receiving counseling, and nobody ever called me back.

Please don’t bring your family member there. Don’t let them recommend a small group home where only 4 mental patients stay there. I let a family member go there after released and horrible experience they only want money don’t care about your family member. Couldn’t get meds once released code was sent in 3 times then they said nothing they can do. I wouldn’t recommend this hospital to nobody. I should of known by the bad reviews.

Please do NOT willingly send a loved one here. I went to this hospital voluntarily to seek help for depression. The staff is overworked and under qualified. Half of the food is not edible. Its dirty. I felt I was treated as subhuman at times. The groups hardly provide any therapeutic value. I never once saw a therapist or counselor despite that I asked the psychaitrist and the social worker for one. I was promised to talk to one by both of them and never received it. I did not receive any help and wasted my time. The only way to pass the time is by playing UNO, watching movies or talking to people if you're fortunate to be there with patients who are cognizant enough to have a coherent conversation. I could write a whole book of the traumatic nightmare that was my stay here. If I could give this place zero stars I would.

I stayed at Beacon for a week. I would say it is similar to prison. You are isolated from your family and get 3-5 min. phone breaks a day. 3 one hour visits. Some of the RN’s treat you like you are beneath them. During my stay a female rape victim confided to a tech that she felt unsafe due to our sleeping arrangements. There were 2 females on a hall of all men without secure rooms. Instead of comforting the lady the tech told her that her problem was above her pay rate.nI waited 3 days before seeing a doctor or psychiatrist. The doctor is good which is why I am giving the place a 2.nThe food is disgusting. It comes from a nursing home off site and is always cold.nOverall, very few people here are interested in patient care. The place is the dirtiest hospital I’ve ever seen. It is not a place I would send my love ones. I definitely wouldn’t stay here again.
