Cat Care of Fayette

Can't find a better place to take your cat or exotic pet for care. I have used Cat Care of Fayette for many years and I have found the staff to be very professional and caring. My two cats receive all of their medical care, whether yearly check ups, dental procedures, grooming or emergency care at at Cat Care. I have also used their boarding service on many occasions. Highly recommend!

Called because old vet wouldn’t trim cats claws they did a great nurse visit and took great care of my 10 month old kitten. Promptly and professional at fair price they are my cat vet from here on

Caution: Beware this place especially if you have a rare breed cat!!nMy family found a lost rare bengal cat in our bushes. We knew that he was worth a lot of money and wanted to find his real owner, as we were warned by our neighbors that people will try to steal this type of cat. It was a holiday weekend so we decided to wait until Monday and take him to a vet to see if he was chipped. My sister took him to the Fayette Cat Care Center. Because of Covid, they were only doing curbside service. An employee took him inside in our cat carrier. When she came back out the carrier was empty. They said that the cat was chipped, and claimed that they were unable to contact the owner. The employee then went on to tell my sister that she had to legally sign the cat over to them and and had no choice, saying that in 4-6 weeks if they had not found the owner, then they could offer the cat back to her for adoption. Sadly my sister did this, and immediately regretted it. We called around to several other vets and the animal shelter to ask about this law, and found that there was no such law, and that the situation was very strange.We also learned that legally they could not keep a stray cat. We then called the Cat Care Center back to tell the owner that we had been falsely lead to sign these documents. They refused to let us speak to anyone but a manager, who now claimed that it was not a law but their “business policy”. The manager said that she would go find that policy and read it to us. Instead she came back 15 minutes later telling us that she had called the animal shelter and they were on the way to pick the cat up. This was very upsetting to us who had been caring for this cat, and had been being careful to avoid anyone stealing him so that we could get him back to his home. Luckily the animal shelter who agreed that what the Fayette Cat Care Centers employee had done was not right, scanned his chip and contacted his owner. This was a great relief as the thought of someone’s pet being taken or sold to someone else because he was a rare breed would have been heartbreaking.

Selecting Cat Care of Fayette to take care of our sick cat definitely made this week a lot less stressful. The staff is amazing in every way. They are informative, kind, compassionate, and professional. We never had to contact them for updates on Buddy because they called us regularly. They took great care of our cat AND us. Yes, CoVid protocols were in place and we did have to wait some outside, but we were handled with professionalism and flexibility. We cannot recommend this clinic enough. This will now be the go-to vet for all three of our feline family members. We thank you all from the bottom of our hearts!
