So the over all experience was great. Just the ER was an issue. All I am going to say is. If you are there because your specialist or primary care is closed or it is the weekend or after hours. Make sure you call there after hours number and talk to there on call doctor. Because the ER doctor is going to try to medicate you and send you home till you can see your own DR during business hours. So either you or someone with you needs to strongly advocate with your own DR to get the treatment you need. Or you are going to be sent home unless it is life threatening.

I have a strong history with this hospital because I was born here. You can definitely tell that they are trying to make this hospital one of the top because lately with the renovations, expansions, and recruiting of awesome staff. My repeat c-section here was in 2018 and it was a dream come true. It was perfect in every way. Today I had another unrelated surgery and I was PRAYING that by some miracle I would have the same anesthesiologist because he was so amazing. I have anxiety and it is exacerbated at the hospital(of course).nMy dream came true!!! Dr. Thomas Gregus was my anesthesiologist again!!! He is compassionate, thorough, gentle, and I truly believe I was in top-quality care. I had no pain or soreness from the breathing tube. He is so special and any patient who is blessed to be in the OR with him will be in the best hands!nI do want to add the the entire staff was very friendly and I felt like a valued patient. I dis not come in contact with a single rude employee, and they all seemed very happy at work, even the PIC team member who was on the last 30 minutes of night shift. She did an amazing job and was very nice! I’m so glad the hospital is investing in its staff and facility!

Our second child was born here and we couldn’t have felt more comfortable anywhere else. Everything went smoothly and one of the best parts is it was close to our home. From the time my wife went into labor we were only 3-5 minutes away. It also helped because I could run home when needed and was just down the road. The rooms where very spacious and clean, and the staff were wonderful.

I was asked to be here at 1100 am to register for surgery. At 200 I asked what was taking so long as my surgery was to be a 100. Nurse informed me that my surgery was at 300 and not sure why they told me at 100 and that the doctor can’t rush surgery. Which was not my point and she missed the reason I’m upset. Why would the hospital tell me to be here two hours before surgery but didn’t inform me my surgery is at 3pm and not at 100. I’ve been here since 1100 no food and now angry not in good spirits for surgery. Kindly take my IV out. Thanks Chesapeake regional hospital and also Dr Loretta for nothing put stress

I came to this emergency room for chest pain, shortness of breath, and being an asthmatic this is an incredibly scary situation even without covid. Everyone with whom I had interacted where wonderful until the nurse came in to take more info and perform my nasal swab. I'm struggling to breathe, in an emotionally and physically vulnerable place when she asks if I pray. That's a weird and inappropriate question. I said no and I'm not a Christian. She replied that doesn't matter and that need to Google the Lord's Prayer so she can teach me to recite it. I said no. She told me once again to look it up and recite it because it will help me. I said absolutely not, AGAIN. After that interaction she was incredibly rude and short with me. I would absolutely include her name here but she conveniently had her badge covered. I brought this up to the PA and she was wonderful in her handling it. However, this doesn't mitigate the fact that you have a nurse who thinks she can shove her faith rudely and unprompted to a vulnerable patient. There's no way that that isn't against hospital policy. After this interaction, unless I'm completely incapacitated, I will not return to thus ER as long as that nurse is there. It's obvious she's only interested in dealing nicely with Christians. Completely unethical.
