Went in tonight because I'm having extremely bad back pain. Was treated horribly by triage nurses. No empathy, attitudes, laughing, making faces to one another. I felt worse after dealing with them so I just left. Id rather hurt then deal with their attitudes. It's a shame how they treat people. I hate hospitals so I avoid them. For me to go I'm in pain. Thanks a lot for making my hate even worse Sentara. Your staff sucks.

Don’t expect too much empathy from these doctors/nurses. The ones who are empathetic and kind, I surely hope they find a better environment to work in than this. Because just confirming my pregnancy, these doctors could care less. They didn’t offer me any information, ask me if I had any questions, and this time and all other times I’ve went to this location, they didn’t offer that. Emergency room is a place to feel safe, cared for, and receive proper treatment til you can get to a doctor and this location fails, for the past year. I feel sorry for expecting mothers, injured citizens, people with anxiety etc who ever have to go here.

It took a long time for my surgery. I was to have it at 11:30 and did go back until 1:45. I totally understand delays. Had a hard first night but after that staff and doctors were great.

Nursing care excellent and two ER physicians were thorough and caring. Everything well explained and discussed. A positive experience...

The doctors and staff really know what they are doing. If you want good care from competent professionals without picking up a staph infection, this is the place to go. We waited four hours but they had 3 shooting victims, a car accident and someone who was arrested in the ER. That doesn’t include the people who came in who were obviously critical and went ahead of everyone waiting.nnOther ER’s that put quick ER times on billboards just stick you in a hall and you still have to wait.nnThey triage patients here pretty quick so you are seen by a PA/nurse pretty quickly to be assessed. The waiting is a pain but it’s that way everywhere and if you have bad luck like we do, it’s just going to be a bad day/night in the ER.nnI think they really are saving lives back there while we wait. If in doubt, call the ambulance before you come.
