The Fritz

This is definitely one of our go-to places for an afternoon downtown. They have a great selection of wine, beer, and spirits. The menu is smaller, but I almost welcome the limited options. If you are here, you HAVE to try the bacon wrapped dates! This is the most unique food item I've ever had, and I could honestly live on them.

Best place in town! Bacon wrapped dates are the best. Grant, the owner and bartender, is super nice and gives ya that Colorado flavor/attitude that makes the experience even more enjoyable. A can’t miss

My absolute favorite in Salida! I travel to my little mountain paradise Salida several times a year and this is hands down my favorite place to eat. I never ever miss a chance. The best meal I ever had was in Paris France until I had the steak frites here. Scrumptious! and the house Red pairs perfectly. The staff and owner are super friendly and remember me. Your tummy and taste buds will thank you for a visit here.

In the age of COVID19, this little hide-away in old downtown just of the main drag, a block from the river is a delight. Restored classic bar, multiple nooks for social distancing and a kitchen that knocks everything out of the park. Large servings, and large pours from a staff that seem to enjoy life and the perfect view of ‘S’ Mountain. One of the best vistas for community celebrations, across from the city park. Several brews on tap, a few local and no shortage of spirits. I had to compliment the chef, the roasted chicken, Brie and Granny Smith slices with fresh greens on a fresh local bakery bun was so large I had to box it home. I chose the side salad, with house balsamic... it was delicious. Another great reason to visit this retro Colorado town!

As always, it was amazing! So glad to see the Steak Fritz on the menu (even as a special). This has been my favorite for quite some time. A true stalwart of Salida, by far my favorite place to dine!
