My husband was scheduled for day surgery today. Free parking...all you need to do is take the free card, in your hospital pack, and place it on your car's dash. Parking can be tight but ample. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. They are not afraid to answer questions. Our daughter was allowed to bring her service dog. In the TV..refreshments..room is a screen that confidentially informs the family where their loved one is..between pre-op, surgery, recovery, room, going home. It is greatly appreciated and used. People are stepping inside the room constantly checking on the screen.

Unfortunately, my experience with this facility was bad. No one communicated. I was there for 5 days after being transferred from Sandstone. The care in Duluth was horrible. Some of the nurses were incredible, but only a few. My wound could not get dressed because there was no order for it. Hence, left open for days and seeping. My wife had to dress it to keep it clean. Was told I would be seen at certain times, no one showed up until a day or 2 after. Almost every meal I ordered was missing items which threw off the nurses when calculating for my insulin. Trash and debris would be left on the ground, room was cleaned once in the 5 days I was there. Many of the nurses were like robots and did not listen. IV alarms would go off and would take up to 30 minutes to get them shut off, even over night. Replacement IV could not get inserted after 3 tries by 2 nurses and an intern. One nurse was very rude and aggressive and at one time, pushed a walker through the door for me because she did not want to put on a gown. Lots of waste and disorganization. I will never allow myself to end up there again. Sandstone was incredible and perfect and should be the model for all services at Essentia Health. If I ever have to be transferred again, I will go the extra expense and insist on going to the cities. The list goes one, but I am sure you get the point...

This is my review of the Integrative Health Clinic which I believe should be ashamed of themselves and their practices. They so unfairly discontinued my treatment based on missing a few appointments, which I rescheduled in advance and had the audacity to use that as an excuse for their actions along with me being frustrated with their inadequate receptionist who wouldn't give me a call back for weeks after my initial appointment. The icing on the cake is when they left me waiting in the reception area for over an hour, having totally forgotten about me! I had to call in through their on the wall phones three times to get everything sorted out. I believe the culprits behind this whole thing are the receptionists that answer your phones along with the nurse that apparently manages the whole department, I believe her name is Julie, who never gave me a call after I had requested to speak to an actual manager to figure the culprit of their incompetency. You shouldn't really be surprised they don't know what they're doing, they have a nurse managing their whole clinic, and some ridiculous policies!!

Best hospital experience we had. Interventions other then medication was used regularly. Adolescents come out with new skulls.
