Came here for their impromptu breakfast while visiting a friend and it was the best vibe I've had in months. They don't normally offer breakfast but posted on their insta that they were having it and it was delicious, tasted like home. The French toast tasted like how my dad used to make it. The owner also played the piano and sang while we ate. Fantastic service.

Wow. The food was absolutely amazing. I can't decide which is more impressive their incredibly welcoming attitude or the food. Both the service and food are really top notch. We got Doc's Fried Chicken Dinner with greens and beans for sides as well as the Golden Nugget Dinner with mac & cheese and fries. The chicken was perfect. Perfectly crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside! The beans, greens, and mac & cheese sides come highly recommended. And can't forget the fantastic cornbread! The signage is a little tough to see in the dark so trust the 2113 W Superior Street address. Needless to say we can't wait to go back!

Really wanted to enjoy the place. Lots of good but we found a hair on our cornbread. Also while waiting we kept seeing people come and go from the kitchen with no masks. That just left a bad impression with all the mandatory mask signs and obviously the global situation. Someday I'll try again and update

For those who still remember the Swamp Sisters place that was in Twig that treated regulars as family. Then this will be a place for you as well. Solomon and his brother took great care of us. The food was amazing and they love not just for the food but also the idea of the community their place can bring is already in place. The building they bought needs work but thanks to the Pandemic they can get it done while offering the community curbside. I am so happy they are here and for the food but for the gathering place i see Doc being once regular life returns.
