Not sure what experiences some people might have at our local health care but believe most negative experiences are self induced! While there are many, from top to bottom, who give the whole a bad reputation and do not deserve to work in health care, administratively or with patients, but, the majority of people I have dealt with are good, professional and compassionate people. Please help weed out the bad with constructive actions instead of including everyone in criticism.
My wife had her second child here because OMH sent all their OB patients here for birthing during the pandemic. She was hesitant because there was a very slim chance she would get her actual OB doctor for the delivery. However, from the first nurse that greeted us and got us settled in to the janitor that congratulated us in the hallway, her and our daughter couldn’t have been cared for any better. Dr. Nigrelli was fabulous, made her more than comfortable and was amazing during the birth of our daughter, and after she arrived. All of the staff and nurses we encountered were great to deal with. We will always be grateful for the warm hearts and exceptional care we received.
In the last two weeks we have been to the ER twice. We waited over 2 hours in the lobby the first time with a total of five total hours. Tonight we have been in the lobby for three hours. Nobody's walking out. My son is having breathing issues not related to covid with a pulse of 114. I wouldn't come here if you have a closer option. The staff is nice and friendly,nunfortunately friendliness
I was pleasantly surprised by my recent visit to the Grayling ER and Hospital for an emergency surgery. The staff were friendly, caring and professional, and the ER was fully equipped with imaging systems to perform a quick diagnosis. They went out of their way to ensure I was comfortable and understood my treatment options, and even got the surgeon on the phone in the middle of the night to help me make the best informed decision. The surgeon and anesthesiologist spent ample time with me prior to the procedure, and the procedure went exactly as planned. Following my discharge (on the same day), I received several follow-up calls and a very thoughtful note signed by the staff who took care of me. All in all, a great experience, and I would not hesitate recommending Grayling ER and Hospital to anybody in need of their services!
I am not very pleased with Grayling emergency services. I will never go there again for emergency needs. I was there in 2019 for severe stomach pains. All they did for five and a half hours was pump me full of pain meds and tell my husband I had kidney stones. Finally after five and a half hours they did a CAT scan just to realize my colon had ruptured and I was on the verge of death. Had to be rushed in for emergency surgery like ASAP or I would have died. Thank God for the surgeon that came in or I may not have made it. Then they had incompetency after I was taken out of the ICU and I ended up with two blood clots in my left lung. Therefore almost died again. At that point my surgeon had me transferred down to Saginaw out of grayling services.
