We had really high hopes for this place because they had good reviews, the menu seemed great and I have been craving Italian food for my cheat meal all week. It was very disappointing to say the least.nnFirst, let me say that everyone we encountered was nice. Unfortunately that's where the positive experience ends. It was moderately busy, so we expected a wait to order, but the amount of time it took to order was borderline comical. Once we did order, the cocktail was by far the worst Old Fashioned I have ever had. To offer constructive criticism, I'd suggest they try the cocktail at Poppy and Parliament and try to emulate that. As for food, I wanted to try a couple of things, so we got some bread with oil, a pizza and the sausage rigatoni.nnThe bread was decent, but the oil that came with it didn't taste like any good quality olive oil that I've ever had (dear reader, please buy certified olive oil...believe it or not, unscrupulous companies cut olive oil with lesser oils). I honestly wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't olive oil at all.nnI ordered my pizza with tomatoes (I asked if they had Roma tomatoes and the person serving us had never heard of them--not a good sign in an Italian restaurant) and when it came out, there were large hunks of uncooked, unripe tomatoes atop a cooked pizza. The cheese seemed to be half of a molecule away from plastic and the crust tasted like a dirty walk-in fridge smells.nnThe sausage rigatoni was the closest thing to good food that I had. Unfortunately the sauce was just so bland that I literally said that finishing it would just be a waste of calories/cheat meal.nnSo, after a 40 minute drive from south Huntsville, we both left our food mostly uneaten, paid the bills. After tax and tip mine was right at $60. So as I thought about the previous week and how many hours I had to work in the rain to pay for such bad food, the decision to never eat there again was very easy.nnIf I had any advice to the owners, I'd say that if you don't know what good food and drinks taste like, get someone in there that does. If/when a good Italian restaurant comes to town, that's where I'll spend my (very) hard-earned money. I would literally rank the food we got below Olive Garden and I really don't care for Olive Garden.
Upscale dining with a casual atmosphere. The pizza is quite good. I had ordered a glass of bubbles, and upon arriving noticed the wine was flat. The server opened a new bottle and brought another glass without me saying anything at all. I was very impressed.
This was by far my worst brunch experience. Not only did they deliver our food to another table, the server was horrible. They told us they had run out of champagne for the mimosas. However, continued to serve them. Once we finally got our food, my steak was rare instead of medium well. I will stick with Humphreys!!!!
Wow ok finally got to ordernn1- They shoved my order at me, didn’t even put it in a bag, and yes it was a rather large order, didn’t even bother to give napkins. All but threw it at me. I was shocked. Had pasta just rolling around in my car.nn2- The Parmesan chicken sandwich had no seasoning. I don’t even think it had salt. Very gross.nn3- my husband let me try his pizza end it also was completely flavorless.nnWe will not be back between the rude service & bland food
Amazing food and incredibly friendly wait staff. Perfect brunch. A little wait time during the busy hours, which is to be expected. Very accommodating with food requests. Great place!!!!
