Tried out the Shell shack tonight. For the price you pay you expect everything to be done well. All of the boiled food was over cooked. We tried the Cajun seasoning medium. The seasoning was more like a gravy with little flavor. I do not recommend. All of the fried food was great though. The drinks were great. After paying $145 for a dinner for three I can't see trying this place again. There are better flavored, better cooked seafood options around us for a better price.

The food was delicious. We had the date night platter, dozen oysters on the halfshell, catfish basket, alligator and calamari apps. Everything was seasoned well. The only reason I'm giving it 3 stars is due to service. When you're paying this price for a meal, the service should be excellent. I feel obligated to tip 20% and on a 200.00 dollar ticket, that's a very large tip for lazy and minimal service. We had to ask for every single thing, some things twice, like plates with both the apps and the platter and she still didn't bring enough. She moved at a glacial pace for everything, refills had to be requested. She and the hostess seating us mumbled and acted non chalant or like we were a bother. Even upon stating this was first visit, there was no initiative taken to greet , explain or give information or market prices we had to literally pull information and hunt, wait and re-request basic items. This is the not the attentiveness expected at the price point of this menu. There was more than enough waitstaff for the afternoon, with not even 50% of the restaurant occupied. Our food came out quickly and was very fresh and hot. The service and just doesn't match the quality of the food and the price for the meal so it really effects the experience.

The food was delicious!!! Very generous portions! Our waitress was a little slow and very inattentive. But I will definitely go back! My husband and I were celebrating our Anniversary we shared The Vip and Catfish plate and gumbo, still took home leftovers.

Great seafood, and good drinks.nnOn the pricier side if you're going to be ordering drinks, appetizers, and desserts but the seafood itself is priced well!nnRegardless of price, the food is fantastic and well worth it.

The food was pretty good, and the atmosphere was good too. Honestly the only reason I even gave 3 stars was because of those two things. Our waitress, Dee, was horrible. She was no where to be found for almost 15 mins. I mean no where. She wasn’t on the floor helping anyone. We got someone else to refill our drinks and suddenly she shows up after 10secs from us getting our refill (after waiting for so long.) I would go back but I don’t want her as my waitress. Nope.
