I recently went into premature labor and had to come to this location to deliver my baby. I didn’t have any negative experiences. All the staff was knowledgeable, friendly, and helped me through my process.

This hospital isn't very good. My elderly grandfather was taken here by ambulance after falling on the stairs, after being diagnosed with lymphoma cancer. We went there and the receptionist told us we could go back and see him (This was a few days before we were put on lockdown for COVID-19 in March). We proceeded back to his room, and when we got there we talked with him for a few moments before his nurse came in and told us that we shouldn't be in his room because he could have a virus, so when he coughs the germs are in the air we breathe in. We were shocked by this because the folks at the entrance said we could see him and we weren't notified we weren't able to visit him until we were already in the room. Not to mention, the nurse who told us we were not permitted to be visiting him was very rude and said it in an extremely unprofessional way. Eventually, my family member was transferred to The Johns Hopkins Hospital downtown. We like that hospital much better and we believe he receives better quality care there. I don't recommend this hospital!

I was injured in a flash burn from an explosion. I was Initially treated at an ER in Hyattsville, MD. After returning 5nX for daily debridement, with increasing and debilitating pain, I contacted John Hopkins Bayview. I was transported to Bayview and within the hour of arrival, was in a ICU and an Angel of Mercy had started my IV and I was able to sleep.nnThe day nurse RN was originally from the Philippines. He was professional, helpful, competent, fabulous and very kind. He helped me with so many things. The night RNS and other staff were also competent, kind and attentive. 3 weeks later I could go home. ud83dude42❤ufe0f Sadly I do not recall the MD’s, just the people in the debridement area. Thank you all for saving my life. ❤ufe0f

My mother has been here for about three weeks. I am giving one star due to the fact that a significant amount of the staff they hire lacks integrity, respect, and compassion. This is not my first disappointing encounter with this medical institution. During the covid pandemic all of the issues within these medical facilities and rehabs have been highlighted. I gave my office number to the doctors three different times because I get no service in my office; they kept calling my cellphone and never even put it in the system. Trying to call them back at anytime is a complete nightmare, I was trying to locate my moms doctor or nurse and they transferred me so many times I lost count, I was on the phone for 58 minutes unit I finally was able to get the name of the doctor caring for my mother thanks to the evening nursing supervisor of the institution on 9/16/2020. Any human being is bound to get frustrated. I had a doctor today 9/16/2020 tell me “I am not familiar with the extensions or numbers its best you just call back to the front desk.... come to find out my mom was on that unit after I was told that I called the wrong unit. Then the receptionist are just lacking compassion, people are upset they are calling because their loved ones are in here not well; if the staff is too sensitive because they feel people are being mean then they should not work in any medical institution. Its not about them its about the family members or significant others that we cannot see because they do not allow anyone to visit due to covid. This institution was lacking integrity and public trust all the way back to when it was called City Hospital it just has different owners with not the improvement that the surrounding communities need and or deserve.
