My daughter was a patient here and she has done sleep study here. I am appalled at the lack of concern and care for special needs. They tried to tell me as a parent that I was using oil to afix my daughters ostomy bag (its liquid adhesive). And complained to doctors ...when I showed them...they apologized but the damage was done. I also recently went to a sleep study and they failed repeatedly to adhere the devices correctly and they had to fix them multiple times in the night.

The team at Mt. Washington are amazing at their job. They are very talented and truly have an understanding of how to educate in addition, challenge children to their fullest potential. The staff at Mt. Washington will move children forward in a way you never thought possible. We enrolled our son in the feeding program. Prior to Mt. Washington, my son only ate pudding, yogurt, apple sauce, and ice cream. Now he is able to chew/eat several different foods! It takes a very passionate and invested team to accomplish something my husband and I never thought possible. Over the years we have worked with several different doctors, speech pathologist and nurses at various medical establishments. We found medical personal not very invested in our son’s progress. We feel if you don’t share our passion for our son’s growth, we need to move onto other specialist. Yet, every time our son has attended a treatment program at Mt. Washington, the team has impressed us with their talents. The Mt. Washington’s team is astounding and brilliant. Thank you Mt. Washington for everything you have done for our son and family.

I spent 3.5 months at this hospital with my daughter who was born at 24 weeks and stayed at Johns Hopkins 4 months prior to coming to this hospital, MW. For a parent who has spent 4 months at a great and comfortable hospital (JHH) and going to MW, it was the most uncomfortable transition ever! We were only given wooden rocking chairs or chairs that don’t rock. I was there everyday and for many hours so it got really uncomfortable. They wouldn’t let you sit in the comfy chairs because it’s only If you’re sleeping overnight. The room space is tiny so when my husband and I came, it would be even more uncomfortable. We shared a room with 3 other families and it was just the worst because there was no privacy. I’m sure they gave my daughter the wrong breast milk one time because I caught one of the nurses about to give her milk from a bottle that I didn’t recognize. I immediately said something and sure enough it wasn’t mine. I was very upset. I always gave them breast milk to store for her, but sometimes they wouldn’t give it to her. I wasn’t very pleased with that either. :-/nThey are known for being a good feeding hospital to teach babies how to feed. Well, they didn’t do a good job because we ended up just getting a g tube for our child because we could tell they had no idea what to do to help her eat to gain and we just wanted her out. We knew she would do better at home. Sure enough, we were able to get the gtube removed in a matter of months after leaving this hospital. If anything, being there kept her back from thriving.nThe only thing MW did for our child was wean her off oxygen, which anywhere could have done.nnAlso, trying to get in communication with a nurse was so hard. I always had to leave a message and they never called me back. The communication was horrible. And I felt like they never wanted me there or couldn’t wait for me to leave before they did anything.nnOverall, I cried the most at this hospital because it was just the worst experience I’ve ever had. We met some great nurses, but it’s not an experience I would want to relive ever. I think they should work on having a more comfortable environment for parents who are there longer than a few weeks. It was emotionally and physically draining. And the front desk people, especially the older man is just rude and doesn’t know what he’s doing, which made it even more stressful.

My son was there this month March 2019. It was pretty ok. I really like the nurses and techs. They were helpful and did not mind answering any questions. I really liked my son nurse practitioner she was really nice and took good care of him. What I didn’t like was how I could here conversations of employees talking about one another. I work too and sometime my co-workers and I don’t always agree on things but we do know how to be Discrete with it. Also, I am greatful for the security they have but it takes to long at the security desk to get checked in. One time it took about 15 min to get checked in. I hope in the future the check in process will be quicker.
