The National

Even though closed for dining in, The National still has what it takes to deliver excellence! We ordered the rack of lamb and caesar salad on Christmas Eve and it was fantastic! Perfectly cooked to a delicious temperature and enough to feed 3 people.

My husband and I loved dining here. Atmosphere was amazing along with service. Our waiter was prompt but never over barring which is great when you want to enjoy a cocktail or two before ordering food. All of our food was delicious and left us ready to return on our next trip to Telluride. Make sure you save room for dessert!!

Burrata appetizer was 5/5. The scallop dish was light and delicious; grapefruit was a nice addition to this dish. Linguini with clams was not our favorite.

Awful awful service. Called in to order takeout and offered a 20% tip even though we weren’t dining in the restaurant. Was told food would be ready a little before 8. Arrived at 7:50 and was asked to “take a walk around the block” until food was ready. It was 18 degrees outside. Walked home, came back 15 minutes later and the owners were only worried about getting their regulars’ food delivered to their car so those customers didn’t have to come in. Food was solid but would never go back.

Absolutely excellent place. The atmosphere/music were on point, service was perfect, and food was amazing. I particularly appreciated the bartender making a top-notch/creative cocktail with my only request being a particular whiskey. Best way to end a solid trip to Telluride!
