Diner-style restaurant with broad array of breakfast, lunch, and dinner dishes.
Last week was the first time we visited this place. But It is no doubt not the last time. We enjoyed the evening very much with the good service, with the fine dishes and booze and with the decent price. We will absolutely come back again.
I’ve been in the Waltham area for a while and In a Pickle has always been a spot we’d recommend friends go when they are in the area. They always have interesting items on their menu that are fun to try. However, my most recent experience was very poor and for an experienced restaurant I expected a far better experience.nnIt began when we arrived and placed our name in the queue to be seated. We had a party of 4 and we’re told to expect a 20 minute wait time which seemed reasonable as it was not too busy.nnAfter roughly 30 minutes we checked in to see if we were getting close to being seated. We were informed there was 1 group ahead of us and it shouldn’t be much longer. As we were waiting for another 20 minutes we started seeing people that came after us being called to sit. After a few groups sat we went up to ask why we hadn’t been seated yet and they informed us that the multiple other groups that had been seated were ahead of us on the list. We asked how it was possible since we had previously been told it was almost our turn. They informed us they were simply going in order. After another 15 minutes we were finally seated.nnAfter being seated our server was friendly which was appreciated after waiting for so long. We ordered our food and chatted among ourselves. After roughly 10 minutes we were surprised and excited to see our food come so quick! The kitchen clearly has everything down to a science.nnAfter the food arrived we quickly realized we didn’t have any silverware or condiments. Just some napkins. We waited for about 2 minutes thinking they were grabbing some to bring to us but we soon realized they were not coming back. I approached the hostess to ask if we could get silverware and condiments. She apologized, said she would grab them and went towards the back of the restaurant. As I returned to my seat I realized the hostess had gone back to her stand and had not brought anything but we assumed she had informed our waiter of our request. At this point we waited for another few minutes before realizing no one was coming. I then got back up and approached the hostess about the status of the silverware. It was at that point that I was informed that they had run out of silverware and when more was done being washed we would receive some. This was shocking to say the least considering we had already been served our food.nnUltimately we sat for at least 15 minutes after our food arrived before we were given utensils to eat. At this point our food was cold, but we felt that we had already complained too much to say anything further.nnNeedless to say this was an extremely disappointing experience and I will find it hard to recommend In a Pickle moving forward.
Just awesome! Food is delicious and indulgent, but they have some healthier alternatives and you can make your breakfast/lunch/brunch what you want. The loaded buckwheat waffles and el diablo omelette were excellent. Service has always been courteous and responsive. Their COVID-19 protocols are impressive considering the swarm of people usually waiting outside (a testament to how good this place is) . It seems like people trying to get a table cause more problems in physical distancing than employees can enforce but overall they try to do a great job. Every employee has a facemask covering mouth AND nose. Waltham is lucky to have In a Pickle!
Wow!!!! This place is awesome. We all had major food babies after, but it was so worth it. Our waitress was very sweet and the owner, Tim is so great to talk with. My sister and I both had the honey hot chicken and waffle. My boyfriend got the meat omelet and caramel crunch French toast. We all shared the Oreo extreme pancakes and pumpkin bread French toast. I wish I had a second stomach because everything was so yummy. The pumpkin bread French toast had so much flavor and we loved the crunchiness on the outside. The chicken and waffles meal was delicious!! We can't wait to come back!
