Anchor Bar

This restaurant has been on my bucket list for some time now. During this C19 pandemic they were offering indoor dining. I ordered a dozen of the most popular hot and spicy wings and ate them in the parking lot. The sauce was perfectly flavored and the heat level was just right.

What a disappointment we drove about 40 minutes to get to this restaurant in anticipation of eating wings and having beers we arrived at about 8:15 p.m. only to be informed by the staff that they were closing early with no real explanation other than business was slow I inform them that we drove there and have made a special trip just to come eat wings at this restaurant for the first time while one waitress was pretty nice the staff was generally rude and said I'm sorry we're closing there's nothing we can do I feel that once informed of this situation they could have done something to accommodate us especially since we were there within their normal business hours very disappointed....

My son and I are wrapping up an epic road trip. We both love wings, so of course we are going to try the originals. We can see why they are still in business: good size, quick service, fair prices.... our server, Tony was on point.

Chicken wings are amazing. I'd rather have flavor over heat. The mild sauce was just the right mix of heat and flavor. If I didn't live 2.5 hours away, I would be there all the time

While I visited Buffalo for business on the eve of the COVID-19 Pandemic I since I truly love Buffalo Wings --- that much--- for two days that was about all I ate short of water, a couple of protein shakes and salads. My first meal was at the Anchor Bar location at the Airport in Buffalo. Until I went to the original Anchor Bar in Buffalo proper those were the BEST CHICKEN WINGS I had ever eaten in my life. When I finally went to the Original Anchor Bar, I was in heaven and ate so many wings that I only wanted more wings the following day. I cannot over emphasize how hospitable folks in Buffalo are to visitors. That alone makes it worth the visit. The Anchor Bar is Classic Americana and has a truly warm and hospitable vibe. Even if you are not a Buffalo Wings fanatic they deserve your patronage. There are days I want to go back to visit Buffalo just for the Wings but there are also so many other reasons to visit Buffalo.
