I stayed here for four nights. This is one of the best set ups in America. Stormed the whole time I was there but they kept the parking lot cleared and the side walk of snow. The people who operate this cozy and unique place are down to earth. The food is magnificent and presentation gives you the feel that a lot of care goes into the menu. Go out of your way to stay, eat or drink, it’ll be worth your time and money.

The food here was amazing. I had coconut shrimp as an appetizer and it was cooked to perfection and tasted amazing. The ice tea was perfect. I got the Fred's Special Strip Steak with sautéed mushrooms and onions with a baked potato and green beans. The steak was cooked perfectly and had fantastic flavor. However, there was at least three full bites of grizzle on it which I would not have expected for a house steak at $26. I took one star away for that and the restaurant was a bit busy and tables were not that nice looking / kind of run down and crowded in together. They could use tablecloths. The house salad was slightly below average but the fresh bread and dressing dip was pretty good and flavorful and I also really enjoyed the vegetable platter and horseradish dip.nFred's Inn has amazing food and good atmosphere. The prices were average.nI will eat here again because the food was overall very satisfying and came in an adequate amount of time.nYum.

Excellent food (St Louis Ribs are magnificent) at very reasonable prices. Staff are nice too. One bartender always seems to on duty when I go here and he is the epitome of professionalism. (Wish I had a name...but he's always there ! )

Good food & server. Atmosphere nice. Food ordered was good, although one stated steak was just ok, not great, a little tough, the other really liked his steak. Baked potato was good (brought my own butter, sour cream & bacon bits - all plant based), green beans drowning in butter, ok for some, not me.nWould have liked to have seen a menu item for plant based customers (for health reasons or animals), as simple as a veggie burger, pasta or something easy for kitchen to make - salads and baked potatoes don't cut it all the time. Time to diversify for those that are plant based. My family has a hard time going out to eat & finding a place that accommodates all of us, meat eaters and plant based. Hard to support local restaurants that don't support local eating habits. There's more plant based/healthier customers then you might think.

A great meal and friendly service. Experienced bartender and staff. Plenty of parking for vehicles and snowmobiles.
