Hoboken University Medical Center

I gave birth at Hoboken University Medical Center in December 2020 and had a very positive experience here. When I entered through the ER, a very kind genuine man met me at my car with a wheelchair to help me into the hospital. I was brought to the maternity ward which is very clean and staffed with amazing people. The labor and delivery team was extremely kind and supportive, answered all of my questions, helped me get everything I needed, respected my birth plan, and helped me feel calm and confident. The doctors were very kind as well. The nurses were absolutely the kindest people I ever met and they took such great care of me, my baby, and my husband during our stay. They were so attentive, positive, gentle and kind with my baby and were very helpful and knowledgeable in caring for me during my recovery. The lactation consultant was very informative and knowledgeable as well. The food at the hospital was good. I have many food allergies and the staff that took my order each day were extremely helpful, they helped me figure out what I would be able to order that was free of my allergens. Due to the pandemic, we were not allowed to leave at all during our stay. Therefore nurses were extra helpful in meeting our needs, for example informing us of places with good food in the area when we wanted to order food and helping us pack up when it was time to leave the hospital. I was very impressed with my stay in the maternity ward and would definitely recommend this hospital to others.

I gave birth here in January 2021 and from start to finish my experience was one of the most amazing things I’ve ever done in my life. From the moment we checked in we were treated with courtesy respect and care. The nurses here are truly no joke. Every single one of them one after the other was so amazing they clearly love their jobs and helping people because they made me feel so safe while I was there getting my C-section. My doctor (Dr.Michael Ahn) was amazing, so confident and knowledgeable. my surgery went very well and I felt very prepared going into it. I could not recommend this hospital more for someone who is going to have a scheduled C-section like I did or for anyone who is going to give birth! You Simply cannot receive better care than this in north Jersey. A huge thank you to everyone in the labor and delivery unit for treating me my partner and my baby like royalty! You guys are superstars!

I liked the way they interact with patients/ customers. The registering person named Lillian Curtis was so kind and polite. It's hard to see such politeness most of the time when u go to hospitals. My appointment was at 8.30 and I went half hour early. He still did not waste any time and helped me get registered and kept on posting on the doctor's availability. Thanks to the staff for being so kind. Everyone i met there was very kind.

I unfortunately cannot give less than 1 star. There is a reason this is a hospital and it has less than 3 stars. Unprofessional help desk. Not able to speak with a human being unless you wait 1-2 months for a call back if any billing issues. After waiting 6 weeks was able to speak with someone who scheduled time.. and then forgot to call at said scheduled time.. so back to square 1.nnEven my insurance company is mind blown at the inability of this place to address a simple question. Simple solution, go elsewhere to avoid headaches and rude people.

Absolutely terrible. I took time from work and went to the ER and they barely did anything but probe me with a wand and stick me and take urine only to say that I would need to see a specialist. They forgot my blood samples and left them on my bedside table for hours. They were still sitting there when I was discharged.nnThey put an IV needle in and said I was dehydrated, but didn’t give me a saline drip or even water to drink. So I was just laying there with a needle in my arm for hours that wasn’t connected to anything. I guess they forgot.nnwish I had saved the money and just gone on dying instead.
