I have been under her care since I was 15 years old. Dr. Hatten has never once made me feel uncomfortable or nervous about a checkup, surgery, or whatever the case may be. The bedside manners from her are more incredible than ANY other doctor I have EVER went to. This includes ALL of the staff that works there. I really want to point out that I am well aware of the fear most of us women have going to the OB/GYN... Dr. Hatten has always made me feel SAFE and COMFORTABLE during what feels like it should be a very awkward moment, or topic of discussion. NEVER ONCE, have I felt as if I am being judged or belittled. Not to mention, when it comes to my reoccurring uterine cysts, she has always made sure that I end up safe and in recovery. My first cyst was at age 15 and it was the size of about two softballs on my fallopian tube. She saved me just in time from that cyst exploding. Then, the appropriate and necessary steps were taken to help prevent future cysts and problems. I am so grateful to be under care of such an amazing and smart Dr.

I love Dr. Hatten, I’ve been under her care with medication assisted treatment (Suboxone) for a few months now. During this time my health mentally and physically has improved drastically.nnShe takes a sort of harm reduction approach with an emphasis on root causes for using substances in the first place There’s also a focus on relapse prevention, and if you did relapse, why it happened and how to prevent it from happening again. I found this approach useful, since going in I still felt I could use opioids every now and again...but when she called me out on a positive drug test result, it opened up a discussion on why I felt that the lingering addictive behavior was acceptable in the first place. I haven’t used since that talk, and as embarrassed as I was being caught red handed, it was a huge benefit for my recovery.nnIn terms of bedside manner, Dr. Hatten is not there to pass judgement, or throw you out of treatment on a whim, or make fast cash off your problems (beware, there are many for-profit clinics seeing their golden opportunity in the overdose/opioid crisis). She doesn’t hide behind a huge desk and an even bigger computer screen. This problem of substance use, it’s personal and ugly and tough and emotional and sometimes it’s baby steps then big leaps and dr. Hatten takes whatever you throw at her and helps you find solutions.nnNot only do I adore dr. Hatten, but the office staff are lovely as well. I see the same nurse every time, and she’s fabulous, also a very non-judgemental person who you can talk to candidly about serious actual problems in your life and she just makes sure you get the best care. The office itself is quiet, roomy, private, with good reading materials and I’m always seen on time with almost no wait.nnIf you or a loved one are struggling with this problem, seriously, just schedule the appointment. It may save your life.nn*Side note: on the brochures advertising this treatment, it would appear they are only accepting female patients at the time. I mean, it’s a OB-GYN office after all lol.
