A wonderful, welcoming wine and pizza bar that serves a diverse and colorful, relaxed clientele. We love it. And pizza and fine wines to go during the pandemic.

Grinnell is so lucky to have Solera and Colleen. This place truly is a gem on the prairie. Colleen has the type of knowledge about wine you would expect from a master sommelier at an upscale metropolitan restaurant or winery, but she shares it with such friendly, down-to-earth charm that makes each interaction a joy. I have never entered Solera and not felt at home, and have never left without learning something new. Colleen’s honest passion for her store and customers keeps regulars coming back even without indoor dining and events, and Grinnell is truly blessed to have her.nnSolera’s COVID protocols are also great—masks are required at all times (and provided if you do not have one), there is hand sanitizer at the door, and surfaces and pens are wiped down after every use.nnIf you’re in or near Grinnell, make sure to stop by Solera for unique wines and great conversation, and don’t forget to pick up her truly incredible homemade frozen pizzas while you’re there!

Wonderful atmosphere, the place feels super cozy and homey. Plenty of different kinds of seating: bar seating, high tables, and regular tables. The selection of wine and beers is excellent. The pizza is so delicious! My party ordered a few different kinds and they were all so delicious! I highly recommend this place for a relaxing night out.

Solera is an intimate and quirky establishment with a selection of wine that can not be found anywhere else locally. The owner handles everything personally and will make you feel welcome. Absolutely worth checking out if you are nearby!
