What a unique hotel! Great food, drinks, and the rooms were very nice! They even had a bunch of activities to do on-site! Highly recommend!

I get that it's a pandemic but you really need to check this place out! Plenty of room, good ventilation, and great precautions made it a great place for us to chill and play games on a dull January weekend. On top of that, the history, architecture, and details of each room and common areas are not something you'll see elsewhere. Amelia and her crew were prompt and helpful as it was our first time visiting and we're used to lower end, boring hotels. Worth our 4 hour drive!

We had our wedding at Hotel Grinnell in July of 2019 and it was the most amazing day! Joni was so helpful in helping us plan our wedding. On our wedding day every detail was perfect and all of the staff was kind to our guests. The rooms, auditorium, ballroom, everything is uniquely designed and incredible. We loved the charm of this old school turned hotel and it was the perfect venue. If you want a perfect wedding that is also very affordable, Hotel Grinnell is the place! We can’t wait to go back on our anniversary!

WI am a teacher of 30+ years and walking into Hotel Grinnell was like stepping back into my youth. The mellow, golden wood floors reminded me of my first teaching job. Misty eyes. My grandkids and I enjoyed the stay so much - from warming ourselves outside on a crisp fall night, to playing the many available games, to writing on the chalkboard in our room. This is another jewel in beautiful Grinnell!

The room we stayed in was $200 plus taxes on this particular night which at first seemed okay because the room looked really nice. Once we got past the nice appearance of the room it actually wasn't very nice at all. They put hard wood floors in the rooms which make the room aesthetically quite appealing but when the people in the room above you are wearing high heels, cowboy boots, or just stomping around it is incredibly loud! In the morning we attempted to take showers but there was no hot water, none. We called the front desk & we were told to let the water run for 5 minutes or so. We let that shower run for 10 minutes & not one drop of hot water ever came out. To really top it off their complimentary breakfast was bad too. When we talked to the front desk about everything they just shrugged their shoulders & said sorry. We won't be staying here again anytime soon, there are much nicer hotels in Grinnell for a lot less money.
