I went into Field and Stream in the Huntington Mall, Barboursville, WV on Saturday evening (Nov 7,2020). I was in search of a particular shotgun made by Remington, the previous 3 places I had looked didn’t have one in stock. Field and Stream had the exact gun that I wanted and I asked about purchasing it right then. The older salesman that was assisting me would not even fill out a security clearance for me. He did not say I refuse to sell you this gun but his actions spoke volumes! I am a United States citizen without any kind of criminal history. I am over the age of 18 and have been for many years. I am sane and never been treated for any kind of psychiatric issues. I do not drink or do drugs and I had the money to pay the asking price and I told him that I was wanting to purchase the gun. I walked out of the store without a gun and disappointed. The more that I think about the interaction, the more upset I have become. I have the right to purchase a firearm as long as I pass security clearance so who is he to decide for me if I should purchase this gun. I was spending my own money not his. Field and Stream lost approx $500 on Saturday evening and a customer. I gave the store 1 star because they do have a wide variety of products but apparently they need to retrain their salesmen in how to actually sale items.
Everyone was courteous and helpful. I got what I went there for at a fair price.
