This review is specifically about the restaurant looked just to the east. Totally separate building.nBuilding and parking lot from the outside don't seem impressive. But, inside is a very well kept dining room that appears near new.nThe service started out really good, but ordering food was slow, getting the food was slower, getting the check was slowest. So this could have gone better.nI had the catfish - it was not great and was very salty. My wife had the salmon- it was pretty small and the whole dish was on the salty side as well.nNot sure it we'll go back and try again. They have potential.

We were looking for a good restaurant with vegetarian options and Spicewood was perfect! The pesto pasta, the pizza, and the nachos were amazing. If you are in Alpine and you want a nice place to celebrate I say definitely check out Spicewood. LOVED IT!

Arrived in Alpine on a Monday afternoon. Many restaurants closed. This looked interesting so we tried it. The outside looks uninspired but inside is nice and attractive. It looks like a new restaurant. The patio had a little more character then indoors. Jalapeño cucumber margarita was refreshing and didn’t have the nasty gritty mix flavor. The food was great. Jalapeño popper dip was good. Husband had chicken fried steak with green beans. I had rotisserie chicken with green beans. Not totally sure but think the chicken was pan seared but rotisserie had very good flavor. The chicken fried steak had a nice thick coating and great cream gravy. Id definitely recommend this restaurant but consider reservations, especially on Monday

Sold out of basically everything. Asked for multiple items and got oh sorry we don’t have that available. Was the beginning of dinner on a Friday night, I don’t know how you aren’t prepared for customers. Did manage to charge me $3 for my sweet tea even though I left because they had nothing available on menu. Previous times that I’ve been here the oven has been broke and orders have been messed up. Continuously have gone back because when it is in stock it’s good food. Management is very underprepared. Would not recommend going here.

The place has great ambience. The covered air conditioned porch is the place to be. On cooler nights one can be out too. The views out are great. Food is good. Steak was more fatty than usual. Can be better. No draft beer but good selection of cans. Ample parking and clean facilities.
