I accidentally injured the toe on my right foot. It was bleeding profusely. Due to the fact that I wasn't able to slow, or stop the bleeding, the ambulance was called. I arrived at the Summit Emergency Care, and taken to the Triage Section. I was helped off the gurney by the ambulance personnel, and followed what I can only assume was the Triage Nurse. Vital signs were checked. My toe was still bleeding. I was asked to wait in the Waiting Room. I proceeded to that area, toe still bleeding. A member of the hospital cleaning staff arrived to mop up the blood. My Son-in-law was already in the Waiting Room area. My daughter arrived, and at that time, I was called into the Patient Registration Office. My information was taken, and due to the fact that my toe was still bleeding, the Admissions Clerk gave my daughter some tissue to put under my toe. I returned to the Waiting Area for approximately two hours. My Son-in-law approached the desk in the Waiting Room Area to see where I was on the list. He was informed that 12 people were ahead of me. Upon hearing that information, we decided to leave. I went elsewhere for treatment. There was a young woman in the Waiting Room with an infant when I was told to wait there. My Son-in-law said she was there when he arrived. I don't even want to guess how long she had been waiting. Nothing was done by Medical to deal with the bleeding from my toe. The Admission Clerk gave my daughter the tissue!! My experience assures me that I will always go elsewhere.

My visit to Summit hospital was uncomplicated. I arrived in the ER and was swiftly seen by an ER physician for my broken arm. The nurses and the doctors were very kind and understanding. They explained all procedures. I was given several options to consider for further treatment. I was very satisfied with the care I received on 2/14/21 and the day of my surgery 2/19/21

I will start of by saying I am someone who never goes to the hospital for anything, EVER; however, I had symptoms that were concerning to my OB Nurse Practitioner so I decided to go to the ER. My experience at Summit was top notch and I could not be more thankful for the staff immediate assessment of me/my condition, quickness to get me in, seen by the doctor in a timely manner and diagnosis. Although I came in right during shift change, the staff members were extremely kind and worked diligently to get me worked up quickly. I was seen by Dr. Jenkins—very professional and respectable. Dr. Jenkins not only took the time to explain to me my diagnosis in a clear manner but also was very comforting and empathetic. He got down on my level at bedside and shared a similar personal experience which not only gained my trust and respect as a patient but can and will help me heal emotionally. I’m so grateful for Summit Emergency Department—Day and night shift (since I was in both of their care) as well as Dr. Jenkins.

I walked into the ER on Sunday morning for pain I had since Friday. The staff and nurses got me back immediately and ran some test and scans to quickly find I need my appendix removed.nThe doctor came in shortly after the scans and started gearing me up for surgery.nEverything was good until I was out of surgery. Once I was out of surgery I didn’t see the doctor till the following day at 6:00pm. I was never given a wrap for my abdomen which the doctor said he was disappointed about. I asked for it when I left the hospital and they said they didn’t have any.nI feel a doctor should do their rounds for their patients first thing in the morning and not wait till later in the evening.nI also used the nurse call button and the nurse said they couldn’t understand me and they would send someone into my room to help but no one came for over an hour.nI also heard another patient down the hall screaming for help and it was a long time before anyone noticed and went to help him.nThat’s my experience. Not the worst, but there is room for improvement in some areas.

I arrived in excruciating pain around 2:00AM on Tuesday the 13th. I was immediately taken in, assessed, and diagnosed. I can easily say that this was one of the most positive medical care experiences I have ever had. The team was attentive and friendly, and got me back home quickly. Having never been there before, I chose this location based only on the reviews on the web. Dr. Walker took time to explain the condition and talk about ways that it can be managed. I wish all of my health care experiences were this positive. Well done!
