I come in with my upper lip completely cut in half and some teeth missing. I have blood gushing from my face and they tell me to wait outside! Once they finally get me back (10 mins later and keep in mind my lip and teeth are still gushing blood) all they do is set up the blood pressure and pulse machine and then they leave me alone yet again with my face gushing blood not trying to help stop it.nnI got to the ER at 11am and finally by 3pm I finally got stitches and heading home.nnI think they could have done better when a patient first gets there. In the end the nurse and the doctor helping me did a good job stitching me up and making sure I was comfortable so I will give them that.
Great nurses and doctors here. Got my wife back quickly when she was vomiting and had bad migraines. The awesome nurses hooked her up to an IV and added some drugs and she was all better very quickly! Great hospital ud83cudfe5
I will start by saying that the PA and nurses who cared for me were great. I came in 11/6/20 with a possible ruptured cyst with pain coming in severe waved for days. I underestimated the wait, which was my fault. I was prepped with an IV trocar for the contrast for a CT and was told someone would be back with medication, but no one came back. Being there 3 hours without imaging being done yet, my pain had let up such a significant amount that I felt I could go home and deal with the pain. I knew it would be another few hours, and didn't want to waste any more time or resources, and knowing my husband and I needed to get up very early and our daughter was asleep in the waiting room, I didn't feel any need to stay. I let the staff know, and let them know that if it got worse again (it did) or if it became unbearable that I would be back, amd that it was my fault for underestimating the wait. No actual diagnosis or treatment had been made, only the IV insert. Upon leaving they wanted to take out the IV tubing and I let them know that I would like to do it myself and bandage it at home (I have done it before). They insisted that I could not leave until it was removed. Ok. Party. As stated earlier the nurses and PA who assisted me were awesome...nnMy issue is with another staff member who did NOT do any previous care with me. She took me back to the exam room to remove the IV. This nut, WITHOUT GLOVES, bare handed, put her FINGERS on the entry point of the trocat, quickly jerked it out(not rough, but enough to blow the vein), then quickly put a cotton on it and wrapped it way, WAYYYY too tight that my arm started to burn down to my fingers. That annoyed me and made me angry because she couldn't bother to use gloves or wash her hands. Upon leaving I felt something warm and wet and looked to see that my sleeve was soaked in blood, and I developed a golf ball size, painful lump and was bleeding badly through the way too tight bandage. As soon as I went outside I took it off to relieve the pressure. Forget the cysts because I couldn't sleep from the pain in my arm. Now I can barely move my arm due to the pain and swelling, and it's going to be every shade of bruise once the swelling goes down. Not to mention her putting her non gloved, dirty hand directly on the IV entry point. The other nurse who put in the IV, she tried with my right arm, got a vein, then it missed...NOT ONE BRUISE, just a small red dot. When she inserted it into the other arm, same thing, not one bruise, mark, discomfort. It was only when this other woman removed it as if she were annoyed.nnEveryone else was great, but this lady doing this without gloves...seems like it was intentional because I wanted to leave before being treated. I wish I could post a picture of my arm amd attach it to this post. It has been a few days and my arm is still swollen, I still can't fully straighten it, and the bruise is still darkening and spreading, and the pain wakes me up throughout the night. Now I get to worry about a clot forming. Thanks random lady...
I’ve been here a few times. Had my twin boys here when they were supposed to be born at Vanderbilt. They were NICU babies. I’m thankful to have ended up here. Incredible hospital and staff! I went there last night to find out I miscarried. They were courteous and sympathetic. Gave me all the resources I needed and answered all the questions I had. This is a great hospital and I’m happy to live close enough to it to be my number one choice for medical care. They have fixed twins up multiple times giving them medication they needed that their pediatrician didn’t even provide so they could fight sicknesses faster and easier. They get you took care of faster then any hospital I’ve been to.
The nurses were very courteous and helpful during my stay.
