Children's Hospital at Erlanger

This is my daughter's 2nd admission. The hospital does show its age. Nurses often type on the keyboard more than physical or visual observation. Nuero team & nurses were good in September. However in December it feels like staff is exhausted. ER was dusty & clearly not 100% cleaned between uses. At first we were appalled to be in a shared ER room, but they said they dont usually share. I figure its for family patients where more than one child in the family is brought in for emergency care. The third floor for hospitalized children is in need of fresh paint or walls cleaned. Elevators are disgusting. It creeps me out looking at the floor gross. The dietary team has been hit or miss. (We call for liquid diet, are told npo, they call wanting us to place an order, and no delivery is made... or a generic tray is brought of left overs.) ADVICE for parents: bring your own needs. For 2 days I've tried to get coffee. They make a pot but no cups, nor fixings to go with coffee. The staff says donations are very low this year. How tragic. It stinks having a child hospitalized during a pandemic at the holidays... even more so when theres no coffee... yes they have vending machines and 20 min walk to gift shop or cafe... weekends are scarce on options for food. As this trip we are uncertain of how long we will be here, I fear I'm unable to comment on staff, nursing, or hospitalists. Overall the place feels like it is regular staff and simple policies. Here's to hoping for a better stay in future visits.

My dad had surgery and was on the 4th floor ICU surgery unit. The nurses there were AMAZING!! Kaitlyn, Destiny and Amanda.. Thank you SO MUCH for being so caring and sweet and taking such amazing care of my dad. It is more appreciated than you'll ever know!!!

Everyone here from the nurses to the doctors, staff and volunteers have all been amazing. My child was there for the 24th, Christmas Eve, and it was wonderful what they all had for the children and families. I can't thank them enough.

This place disgusting. They don't clean up blood period and they had left used items from blood taking laying out when they should've thrown away. I'd suggest you guys watch this place with the kids.

Love this hospital! They helped my preemie grow into the precious baby he is now! He's had so many bumps in the road and they've helped him with all of them! The staff is amazing when we stayed there! They all genuinely love their jobs!
