I delivered my baby here 1/23/19. I had an exceptional experience from the nurses, anesthesiologists, physicians etc. They made sure I was comfortable and was just so accommodating. I would definately recommend Mercy Birth Center. Even when the outcome of the delivery was not as I expected (due to medical reasons) they still were amazing in getting me to the final goal of seeing my baby girl

I really wish I could give a great review, but I have so many reasons to give 0 stars. We only delivered here because we love Dr Goff, however we will never be delivering here again even though that means finding a new Dr. First time parents here, so let me preface this by saying we didn’t know what to expect, but we are still shocked at some of the things that happened. First time parents rely heavily on the hospital staff, and sadly they severely disappointed us. So here’s some of it in no particular order.n1) Didn’t change my sheets after birth or relocate us. That’s right, the night after I gave birth they left me to sleep in the soiled sheets that were on the bed when I pushed that baby out. I had to ask multiple times to be able to even shower bc the nurse was hardly present (they didn’t help me shower or anything, but she had to cover my IV before I could), then when I came out they had laid one of their puppy pad looking deals over the stains on the sheets. We thought they were moving us rooms, but then we didn’t see the nurse for hours and I guess in the moment we were just in too much of shock we just had a baby. So I slept (well as much sleep as you can get that first night) on puppy pads and dirty bedding. Looking back it makes me cringe.n2) Didn’t get ice packs following vaginal birth. Again being first-timer I was in such a haze that I didn’t think of it in the moment, but I sure felt it later! Luckily my friend had bought me some MomFrida ones to have waiting at home so when I got home I used those, but that was 24 hrs later.n3) Following birth I was not given pain medicine options. Nobody even mentioned it until Dr came in just before discharge and was surprised I hadn’t been taking anything since the epidural. I didn’t know that was an option so I told him I’d gladly take anything to take the edge off, so I got Motrin just before discharge.n4) Lack of education. They didn’t tell us much in terms of how to actually care for this brand new baby. Would have been nice to have been explained some things like how to bath a baby when the umbilical stump is still attached, (they did bath the little bean just before we were discharged, but not in front of us so we had to do a lot of googling), how to clip a babies fingernails, etc. Maybe it’s normal for them to not explain stuff like this, but it should be.n5) 2 months later and we still haven’t gotten our little ones social security card. We gave it extra time because COVID, but we figure 2 months is long enough and called the SS office. After jumping through their hoops we are informed the hospital never filed that paperwork we filled out and they told us they took care of. BTW I echo another review on here that our little ones footprint record also wasn’t filled out. Called Mercy to inquire on the SSCard and of course they only let us leave a VM. The catch here is if we have to do it ourselves they currently don’t allow in person appts so we have to send in ORIGINAL photo IDs for us, our little ones ORIGINAL immunization records and birth certificate, plus all that paperwork. Well we can’t just be without DLs for 3 weeks, so we’ll have to go get state IDs just to send. *UPDATE* Hospital cannot file for SSN because it’s past deadline. So now we have to do the above listed, pay for the new IDs(wait 30 days to get those)pay for certified mail, and wait another 3 weeks to get it all back. Thank you Mercy!nnOverall, we felt we gave a lot of leeway due to COVID (there were a lot of other things we brushed off thinking it must be because of the pandemic.) But honestly some things are inexcusable. Pandemic or not, Mom should get cleaned sheets and paperwork filed. Y’all, when you’re giving birth for the first time or just gave birth, your mind isn’t thinking “call the nurse in here and ask for (insert need here)” because you’re just not in that mindset! You trust them to help you! We felt thrown to the wolves, but being first time parents we didn’t know how to express this in the moment or help ourselves. Loved our Dr, but feel cheated from the rest of the experience.

We just delivered with Dr Goff and we recommend him and Mercy to our family and friends! So thankful for how attentive and supportive they were during our labor and delivery! One of the best experiences of of my life!
