Southern States - Roxboro

Called to see if they had a Soil Probe Sampler, A guy named Skeeter answered the phone and said they didn’t have one but they could order it. So I said I will check with another store and he said actually we have one but it’s the stores, let me ask the manager if we can sale it. Sure enough the manager said they could sale it. I wasn’t even sure I was going to buy it but after he did all of that work I had no choice. So i arrived and was greeted by the manager. He was beyond nice as well. I asked about their equipment rentals and he showed me everything they rented. I was honestly blown away by the customer service from a big incorporation like that. You guys won my business, corporate should be proud of their employees they acted as if they personally owned that store.

If I could give negative stars I would. I bought my home a few months ago and have propane for my heat source. There was previously a Southern States tank/service used for propane at the home. I went up to the store to start service at the end of August, filled out all the paperwork and requested a new tank, as the tank at my home was completely rusted, old and unused for several years. They obliged and said they would send someone out within the next few weeks with a new tank and fill. Fast forward to October, I called just to check on service and they said they’d pass my info on to Dylan (apparently he’s the only one who delivers tanks and gas?). They had to get all my info again. Waited a week or so with no response and no tank or gas. I have a child and we had been in need of heat as it had gotten cold a few days. Called again. Left a message with someone. Still nothing. Called again. Spoke to a manager. He said Dylan would be out the next day by 2PM (yay, finally!). I got home that evening (last Thursday 10/24) and realized the tank looked as if it had just been painted. Also, surprise! No gas inside. I called Friday 10/25 to cancel my service with them and for them to get the tank off my property. Fast forward to today and they have not removed the tank and realized it is, in fact, a “new” tank. Circa 1989. The tank on my property prior was from 1993. If you need propane for your home, do NOT service with this Southern States.

Always friendly personal feeling service!!!! Really enjoy visiting and shopping at this location. Fair prices too.
