Alta View Hospital

I would have loved to give them 5 stars but the way they handled the last day we visited to see my grandma as she passed away they were unbelievably unhelpful and insensitive. For three nights in a row after my grandma was admitted to the hospital the evening staff was very kind and accommodating and worked with us so my wife and I could come see her. On the fourth day we got a call that they felt it was the end and if we wanted to say goodbye we needed to get to the hospital immediately. We rushed to get there and when we walked in with our 11month old baby they told us he wasn't allowed. We tried to reason with them that we were not told or given any parameters or restrictions like that and didn't have time or the ability to find a baby sitter so we could get there in time to see our grandma and be with her as she passed. They refused to work with us and help us and so I was left to go up to her floor alone while my wife sat in the waiting room alone with our son. They tried to defend themselves with the excuse "thats hospital policy" but an 11 month old is in no way a liability or an issue and isn't going to cause any harm or disturbance to anyone. In situations where loved ones are trying to grieve and be with the one they love as they pass and you refuse to understand and be sensitive to their circumstance and situation and work with them is in no way appropriate for a hospital or medical staff and does not support the value of doing no harm and proving peace and comfort as a professional. Thanks but no thanks Alta view we don't and won't ever want deal with you again.

I took a 78 yr old individual to the ER. We were brought back into the room and they started the process of admitting and helping this person. I had my mask below my nose so I could breathe. During getting this individual help, one of the Nurses ➡️EMILY ORTON⬅️ Started mouthing off to me about getting security to escort me out because it was below my nose. She had the audacity to raise her voice towards me ...stressing both the patient and I out... while.... the patient is laying there in a lot of pain and whom also has heart issues. EMILY spoke volumes as to why to choose a different ER. Then when the doctor was in , he was baiting the patient to say he has COVID symptoms. Blew my mind!!! The patient was negative....which we knew already. It was a disaster that didn’t need to be. Never Ever will we go back there! Absolutely disgusted with this ER.

I went to get a CAT scan/ imaging at the out patient building this morning, and from the minute I stepped in everyone was very friendly and courteous! The two girls at the registration desk, were super nice, and Chris & Lisa were wonderful and very nice to me during the procedure! And the best thing I didn't have to wait more than 10 minutes!

I had a visit here a while back and was nothing but pleased with it. The nurses and staff were timely and kind, and I was out within a few hours for a small issue.

I cant say enough about this hospital, we are used it for many family surgeries inpatient and out. Consistently the best hospital anywhere in Utah with caring courteous staff both day and night. My general rule is to never leave a loved one in a hospital overnight alone, Alta View Hospital is the exception, they never fail to amaze me how caring they are. (FYI) 2 hospitals to NEVER leave a loved one at alone overnight are IMC and TOSH. Thanks Alta View
