This afternoon TERRIBLE FOOD and SERVICE: the hot spiked cider was just warm and the waitress forgot the booze (but not on the bill). The strip of steak of the surf and turf was inedible, harder than a shoe sole. The main waitress was careless and just shy of rude. My NYC guests were quite unfavorably impressed.

Great little place to grab a a drink and an app at when in Harvard square. Relaxed, unpretentious, quirky, and perfectly situated for people watching! I absolutely adore Grendel's and have been coming here for years - thankfully it has survived all of the business turnover in Harvard Sq. They have also been doing a great job adjusting to the covid situation this year.

Small and cozy place to get some food and drinks. Not a great food place though. The clam chowder is good.

They had good mezcal. What's not to like?nWe sat outside, which was charming and the staff was a delight. We just had drinks and a light snack/nuts.
