Wonderful staff - helped my dad with a deep cut and were efficient, kind, and knowledgeable!

My husband and I only had to wait 10 mins on Saturday afternoon to be taken back. The facility is always very clean. The waiting area is comfortable with multiple vending machines for people to access! The entire staff was friendly, professional, and very helpful! Our nurse and doctor that were on call were so accommodating and caring. I swear this hospital has the absolute best staff! Everyone is SO polite and helpful. We had a horrible experience at the Johns Hopkins ER and will never go back to that place. Anne Arundel Medical Center is such a wonderfully run hospital and you can tell they treat their staff with excellent care because their staff treats us with excellent care!!!

Great experience there yesterday. Yes, it is a long wait, but what ER does not have a long wait. The staff was friendly, seemed genuinely sorry that I was feeling rotten, and cared about protecting privacy. The doctors and nurses are caring and provide great treatment. I will definitely be going back to AAMC if I ever need an ER again, and for probably anything else for that matter. Two thumbs up to Dr Long and RN Kathleen!!! Thank you!

Transported on Saturday by AACo Medics, was seen very quickly. X-rays show a displaced ankle with a fractured fibula...was told to see an outside Orthopedic Specialist and sorry but we’re only able to give you 10 5 mg pain pills to be taken every 4 hours. I have BCBS PPO. I am 62 years old. Who says that and thinks it’s ok? Here I sit 5 DAYS LATER, still in agonizing pain. Saw the OUTSIDE orthopedic specialist on Wednesday (the earliest appt) who ordered a CT scan...only to be told that I need surgery. REALLY....why wasn’t I admitted immediately for surgery and seen by AAMC Orthopedics? Why was I referred to an outside orthopedic doctor? I am 62 years old who lets a 62 year old person go 5 days in agonizing pain...WHO DOES THAT? And btw feel better and come back or call the ER if you need anything or if your condition gets worse. REALLY? Next time GO TO Hopkins or Mercy Medical...always always got better care there.

Updated: GO TO ANOTHER ER! If I could give 0 stars I would. Was instructed by my Dr to go to the nearest ER so I did. Went in and left leaving no better then when I arrived. Was given antibiotics, told to take some over the counter items, and to followup with my PCP immediately. Even the nurse commented during discharged how bad I looked and asked if I was ok. One of the medications was something I definitely should not have been instructed to take based on test results. To top it off even though the hospital is a participating provider with my health insurance the ER doctors are not. Highly recommend checking this before you go otherwise be prepared for alot of headaches and medical bills. Update: headache was an understatement!!! After months and months of trying to get the billing worked out (my insurance company was amazing the Dr/hospital billing office was a nightmare to deal with) found out the billing office received the payment from my insurance carrier however never posted the payment to my account ( months after receiving the payment!). The payment was only posted because I called yet again to inquire about it. Can only imagine what would've happened if I didn't follow back up on it. Will NEVER go back!!!!
