Four of us went for dinner last night. Between us we had Buffalo tenders, a Flat bread, Chicken Piccata, and the Swordfish Special as well a calamari app., strawberry shortcake and chocolate cake. Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious and perfectly cooked. Seldom do we dine out and all thoroughly enjoy our meals. Service was prompt, courteous and well-timed, portions were generous. The setting is beautiful. We put our name in, 40-minute wait, and went to walk the bridge and to the old manse. Great way to spend an evening and fantastic meal. Perfection. We will be back!

I dine in this lovely spot quite often! This is the best place to to have a good dinner. I visit this place routinely. The food is very good, the staff is courteous and the cost is fair. I like being in this place for a rich supper.

Service was good. Food was solid too. Had the clam chowder for soup, the steak for a main, and a flourless chocolate mousse for dessert. Keep in mind all eating areas in the Colonial Inn have the same menu, it’s just depending on the atmosphere you’re desiring.

The food and service were a 5/5. The atmosphere was a 1/5 The bugs made it so low. Average the two and you get 3/5. When my husband and I went there we hoped to be seated inside but it was full so outside it was. We thought that it would be fine but wow were we wrong. I have 29 mosquito bites on my right foot and 13 on my left. And my husbands legs are covered! We were bug dive bombed throughout the meal. My table and at least 3 others asked if there was bug spray or anything they could put out to help with the bugs. They didn’t have anything. My strong suggestion is wear bug spray and for the restaurant to at least put citronella candles out on the tables. Do something to help the patrons out a little. The staff was kind and sympathetic and said around 8/8:30 the bugs get really bad. That being said that means the restaurant knows that this is an issue so again I implore them to please put something in place to help with the bugs. There are so many natural ways to mitigate mosquitoes that it seems silly for them not to have things in place. Citronella candles, lemongrass planted, and so on.
